Comes up from the middle lane and under takes a moving car in traffic, whilst sat in the middle of the road.

That's stupid as hell. This is why cyclists have such a bad name and why they don't do themselves any favours because they're so touchy and picky about how they should be respected and treated as a vehicle.
I can see that yes, the silver car was probably in the wrong and may have accidently not seen the cyclist in that busy traffic, but there was NO NEED for the tw@t to punch his mirror off and then cycle away. He could have just left it but that's probably gonna be a £300 repair for a new mirror now...
If I was in the car, I would have chased him down the road but it was possibly a woman driving and didn't know how to react.

As for the cyclist, that`s how you filter through traffic. No good being alongside the kerb, too dangerous. Not sure why he hit the mirror though

have to say that this seems right, even when the cyclist says "hey im here", the driver continues to force themselves across the lane and squeeze the cyclist, quite funny really, does serve the car driver right in one way, aggression gets you no where

You don’t see what happened before but from what we do see the car driver needed a kick up the **** or the loss of a mirror for trying to block the bike
If I had been in the black car would be giving him some grief too

I went to Farnborough air show a few years ago and some tosser was driving so close to the car in front to avoid letting anyone out that they hit it up the **** I had to laugh because all they did was make themselves look a complete ***** and cause damage to both cars.
At the end of the day it's not worth it but cyclists are more vulnerable than car drivers. I'm mostly a car driver but I can see both sides of the coin from my little time on a mountain bike.

I weave in and out of traffic all the time, make gaps that could be classed as reckless/risky, ride down the outside of traffic etc etc. Its at my risk and I accept that. I will still get angry if someone changes lane or hangs a right/left without indicating or like the muppet last night on OKR who hooted at me because I was in the middle of the (inside) lane overtaking another cyclist, then tried to push me in as he overtook engine revving madly, or any other reckless, deliberate or stupid manouevre that puts my personal safety at risk and out of my control.
Don't think I would resort to taking his mirror off though as when faced with a situation of a car driver turning right across my front whilst he was talking on the phone then shouted at me 'cos all cyclists jump red lights (they were green!) and I had a u-lock in my hand, all I did was tap it on his rear window as opposed to smash it through the driver's one as others might have...

Live and let live, the biker wouldnt have caused the silver car any problems, but then again there was no need to damage the vehicle.
But I cycle, I dont go through red lights and ride as best as I can but everytime I go out I have a very near miss due to inconsiderate drivers.
They say the best car drivers are motorcyclists.
