That was quick: Last Top Gear
The last episode of Top Gear is on this evening. I enjoyed this series and they seem to have got back to being on form. Especially after the tragedy of the India Special which didn't bode well for the series.

Clarkson knows that the India special was a turkey too - did anyone catch his comment to this effect in one of the previous episodes ('...a bit like the India special...')?

Happy to say this series has been a good one, but a good dynamic like Top Gear's can't go on forever, particularly when they're not getting any younger! There will come a point in the near future when it won't be do-able any more. Will be a shame nonetheless and I hope it doesn't happen soon.

as sh*t as it sometimes is,
i enjoy the light entrtainment it is on a suday evening. it can be bad yes, but even when it is - its still better than the rest of the tat on tv.

If you discount that episode with the Sweeney car chase it's been an OK run. Nothing brilliant, but watchable. As the 'supposedly' worlds best motoring show though they should have been in discussions with Ferrari to have the F12 on tonight following its launch in Geneva. They should have also had the BMW M550Dx on, tested either against other performance diesels, or even challenging the M5 (yeah, I know, the M5 would win, mostly). As possibly the best 'do everything' car ever made, they have a duty to thrash its @r$e off and show us how good a car we can't afford and aren't even allowed to (officially) buy is. And they've not even mentioned the facelifted new c'apostrophe'd or new Dacia Lodgy

I don't get the Chris Comment to be honest? He's really down to earth bloke.
If i had a 5.6 mil car it wouldn't get driven in the wet that's for sure!
Fair play for him letting us have a look at it.
Loved the Lydden Hill bit too. I grew up there and spent many a day going round it!

Kimi is class, I remember the thing he did when MS was getting his presentation from Pele, think he said he was taking a **** not dump as said on Top Gear, sheer quality!
Think I'll go hunt You Tube for it well worthy of a rewatch!

Thought the entire series was superb, it seemed to be much more about the cars than previous recent series. Apart from the stunt-scene episode there's not been that much d!cking about this time around - some of the last few series before this were pretty crap, but or me it's returned to form

Really enjoyed this last episode. Loved everything on it.
It's so much better when the main article isn't some poxy phoney 'entertainment' for entertainment's sake bollox - like the Sweeny thing, et al.
The rallycross thing was excellent, because it was real and therefore relevant.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think about how much of an **** he is. I'd much rather enjoy Appetite for Destruction and the two Use Your Illusions in blissful ignorance of what came after.

Who remember sitting watching the RS4 vs skinny climbers, or the Veyron vs private aeroplane episodes?
I cant remember when I last sat and watched a one hour programme without leaving the sofa...
Unfortunately they majored on the arsing about and this manifested itself as really lame scripted ad-libs. The limited humour was the icing on the cake, not the cake itself. Will they ever get that back?

It was a good episode, not the best in the series mind. There was some really good laugh out loud moments this series, as well as "Whoooah!" watching super cars. Was better than some of the previous efforts....so onwards, upwards.
