Hi Guys,

Thinking of taking out AA cover, has anyone Taken the Parts and Garage Cover?

reading the T&C's, they state you must get your car serviced from a garage at the proposed intervals and have proof..? what if you service your car yourself?

anyone used this option before?

Also i was after UK, with say two trips to europe, can i do this or do i need t call them for a quote when i go to europe?

ARC rescue is the one to have.

Ask to speak to Alan McClarty, he'll sort you out.

Much like standard car warranties these days, unless you have your car serviced by a VAT registered garage using manufacturer approved parts and servicing precisely as per the manufacturers instructions then you'll be stuffed and wasting your money.

I worked for the AA for 5 years but gave it up a few months ago. The BRC (breakdown repair cover) i think is what you mean here and it's really not bad. You get 5 claims a year upto £2500 (£500 each claim) but have to pay £25 excess on each claim. It covers alot of things for an aftermarket warranty, even the battery is covered.

Think you'll struggle to get them to believe you've serviced it though. I worked for them and when something on my car went, i had been servicing the car myself so had no proof and they took some convincing to pay up even though i worked for them!

lol, i tried to call them - got a sales girl on the phone who seemed more eager to sell me the cover then give me just info...Sir this quote is valid only for now, if you get off the phone i can not grantee you will get the same quote next time.. lol

i think i may give the Parts & garage cover a miss too much to it..and i think it will be more hassle then its worth..
