Letter from DVLA re points on paper licence
OK got a letter from the DVLA re the adding of points to my paper licence (long story got done for speeding in a very blatent cash collection scheme + associated points + fine as magistrates appearance)
Letter states that due to the poor state of my paper licence I must buy a photocard type.
When my paper licence was sent to magiustrates court it was in OK condition - not pristine but usuable.
The letter I received is supposed to include the form but its not in the envelope, the contact number does not work on the letter - just rings out, then cuts out after 6 mins.
Is there any law that states I must buy a new photo card type as I just dont want one or need one ?
Is there any law that states the point must be typed onto my licence ? I've a previous conviction that just written on in biro.
Advice please on where to go with this.
Richard

I'd try a proper forum for this sort of thing, like http://www.pepipoo.com/
But if you want my opinion, FWIW, they probably have you, and you'll have to pay for the new license too
Plus get ready to be raped every ten years for £20 or so when your "photo goes out of date".

I wouldn't ignore correspondence from dvla to be honest. They like to revoke licences for a variety of reasons, such as failing to send your licence in for points etc.
Not scaremongering, but I'd hate for anyone to fall foul...
