...at least as a regular presence. I'll continue to update the carving thread until it's finished, but I think my time here is done.
I still own an Impreza, and I think I'll keep it until it completely dies - it probably uses a greater cost of fuel per year than its current monetary value, even with my four miles per day commute, but it's nine years of my history.
The site is dead, there's no getting away from it. I've had some awesome times and made some permanent, extremely close friends through the site.
I won't do names, but you all know who you are.
Thanks.

The Tent was dissolved and the database erased about three years ago, if memory serves. I post on a couple of home recording websites now, and that takes up most of my posting time.
I don't mean this thread to be a "look at me" thread, it's just that I have so much history here that I can't just quit and say nothing. I've moved on from cars, although I really only loved one car - the classic MK1 Impreza turbo. It's just been a strange set of circumstances that's kept me on the site all these years. I've had some of my happiest times and also some of my angriest times on here. Anyone who says "it's only the Internet" doesn't really get it.
I really mean it. I'm not leaving through anger or hurt feelings - it's just that the Qualcast lawnmower site has more traffic now, and I've lost interest in cars. I'm not moving to PH, although I've protected my ID by registering.
If anybody has anything to say to me on this thread then I'll reply to it in the best way I can, but essentially it's properly over.
Bob.

Fair shout Bob - I'm tailing off a lot also - Times is hard, work is taking it's toll and it's properly time to move on and leave it to the next generation - I'll still pop in occasionally but will never get to your post count.
It's like what my Father in Law said to me the night before I married his youngest daughter. If you put a pebble in a bucket for every time you make love in the first two years of marriage and then take a pebble out for the rest of your life together - You'll never empty the bucket. Same true here for posts I guess.

Also, the "Clownwatch" episode was just unspeakable. I reiterate that neither me nor any of the Muppets had anything to do with that.
I might not have built a 1000bhp Scoob, I might have trolled hard on some members, I might just have posted a load of sh1te and been a drunken idiot; I've just been a "member".

Sad to see you go Bob, but to be frank, its never been quite right here since the muppets section died, I just appreciate that you tried to stick with it.
Coincidentally I've just hit 60K posts over there
If you want to find me, my user name is Charlie H Pugh, although I'm not in too good a favour with the purists at the moment as I've binned the grassbox of my 17" Super Deluxe in favour of one made from a discarded oil drum.
(and for those who think I'm lying......behold the attachment )

I know where you're coming from Bubba, the place has never recovered from the whole infraction debacle
On the plus side, I never knew there was a Qualcast forum, my mower and I are on our way over

Yeah, I get that. The lion's share of my posting happened in the years between 2003 and 2007 in the Muppet Show! forum, as most of you will know. The period when that forum was obliterated by Simon De Banke was one of the weirdest times. Pretty upsetting, for "the Internet".
Also, the "Clownwatch" episode was just unspeakable. I reiterate that neither me nor any of the Muppets had anything to do with that.

Is there even the faintest glimmer of a flame of the old Scoobynet out there? If not then I'll suggest we all go out in a bang of glory - Perhaps by suggesting to the mods / owners that they could do things a bit better and get BANNED 444444444444444444444444 LIFE

I also make sure I re-read my posts before submitting, just to make sure there are no 'typos' that you would pick up on.

Before you go Bubba...
How are you getting on with the Stranglers cover band, still going old chap ?
PS Echo your sentiments re scoobynet and following a few years of Forester ownership I now spend more time over at subaruforester.org but the main downside is that it's absolute bollocks and has a high proportion of utter jerks

Bob, I know what you mean. De Bank first rescued then destroyed the essence of this site.
And all for profit, no matter how many times he spun out that "it's all about the community" crap. Seriously, don't insult our collective intelligence.
I know you and I had our online arguments, but, ****, it was fun back then

Sadly true. So many funny and entertaining posters have departed over the years, none more so than when Muppets was 'overhauled'. It's a shame that a lot of the old guard is moving on but it's a sign of the times. You will be missed, I hope you reconsider as yours will be the third noteable departure from this site in the last few weeks.

Hi all, although Ive never really said much, Ive been a member since 2001 and have also noticed how the site has lost that vibe / flow of traffic.
I still log in every day to read the non-scooby section as I used to love the jokes, arguments and general funny one liners. I remember the many of the things you guys mentioned above, and when people could put infractions on each other, to start it was funny, but it did `break` this site.
I cant tell you the number of keyboards I spat out water on due to the laughter when reading some of your threads. I initally came on here to buy a impreza, I brought a version 6 coupe R from the `For Sale` section, and after that was addicted.
Getting an old boy now, 40, and yes I now have the kids, and the house and of course have moved over to lawnmowers, Hayter Harrier 48 with key starter ( the impreza of lawnmowers :-) ) so I can relate to your thoughts. My interest in cars has deminished a little, seems having kids now robs me of time, money and engery :-)
However, I cant see myself leaving this site as although slow there are still the odd funny guy on here and I for one wouldnt want you to go. I agree that its time to let the next generation come on and grow, but without the old timers challenging them about thier spelling, txt like speak, or general interlect, then this site has no hope.
Out of interest, where do you guys now go for a online laugh ?? My daily routine is to login, then jump across a number of sites to read the general humour, so if there's a new forum for the old timers, a SAGA forum perhaps :-), then let me know and I will gladily pop over.

A good site that I tend to visit and read is :-
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=12
A wide age group, and some tremendous witt. There's a motor section in there too, and some people just dont deserve to drive going by some of the stupid questions / thoughts :-) Definately worth a look.
