SKy coverage of F1 - Georgie Thompson...WTF?
I mean aside from the subjective eye-candy aspect, she does absolutely **** ALL.
And it would appear that in comparison to her usual day-job, she knows nothing about the sport.
Basically standing there, every now and again, looking at the camera.
Aside from that (and David Croft), a pretty good show from Sky.

let us not forget the drink driving conviction.
Rather ironic in the face of the FIA ACTION FOR ROAD safety signs which were everywhere during qualifying.
On a par with connie huq as the the most useless presenter in any motorsport discipline.
I only hope ted kravitz does the decent thing and beats her senseless with a piece of spare aero.
astraboy.

All well and good IF she was the equivalent to the go-go girl in between boxing rounds, but she's a co-anchor for a "techie" part of the broadcast......
She is quite pleasant on the eye, but TOTALLY out of her depth.....
(remember Ortis Dealey's presenting masterclass?? )

I have watched all the Sky coverage so far. I think they are doing it very well, the picture quality is very good-better than BBC HD, and the coverage by the presenters and commentators is also perfectly satisfactory. The bloke doing the race commentary knows the track well and is able to tell us all the problems etc that the track presents.
I really can't be bothered to get wound up about the female presenter. She is not that bad really and we dont have to watch her for very long anyway. Good time to refill the coffee cup!
It is also good to see that they are being very sensible about when to have an advertising break and there are not very many either. Someone has to pay for the coverage as well as us.
All in all I am very happy about the programmes so far, nice to see all the practises too. I certainly dont begrudge my Sky prescription together with the vast number of worthwhile programmes there are to see under normal circumstances.
Moan at the BBC if you want, justifiably too no doubt, but I see no reason to blame Sky.

Certainly not complaining about the pic quality nor the other presenters - considering it's still in its infancy, very good. But SHE is totally useless, and stands out like a sore thumb in comparison to the rest of the team knowledge and input-wise.
I pay for Sky HD anyway, so no issues there - glad to be able to receive it.
It's just when you compare like-for-like presenting/presenters such as Gabby Logan and in all fairness to her, Georgie, on her football knowledge (ie a lot more than mine!), she should be doing better - ie research and study your subject material. You can then input more to the programme.
This is what I'm getting at....

Quite impressed so far with the Sky coverage.
I wanted to stay with the BBC but I think Sky are doing an excellent job. During the qualifying it was easy to forget you weren't watching the BBC coverage as apart from the swap of Coulthard to Croft there isn't a lot of difference.
The Sky sports App on my iPad adds another dimension too. Driver tracker, different camera angles and full live data feed are available.
As for Georgie, agreed she doesn't do a whole lot but she's easy on the eye so I will let her off.

Sorry, but Georgie does nowt for me, in fact in many pictures, the lass looks dirty......and I mean physically UN-clean
I think it's the died hair and dark brows things, her carpet certainly won't match her curtains.
Now here is a nice Georgie:http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?um=1&...t:429,r:18,s:0

I was dead against Sky having F1 but I have to say they have done a great job, it costs nothing on top your standard HD subscription, the picture quality is brilliant and as for the 5.1 surround - just WOW.
I have never heard a race sound so nice especially now they have dumped the blown diffusers. I love all the live timing extras and having no ads is in the way is a very cool play by Sky. Yeah the chicks are not great but they are a damn site better than EJ or James Allen.
Good job so far
PS I hope they get Moto GP next as that would be even better with a little Sky goodness.

Other than stand with a mic in her hand she practically did nothing.
I wonder how rehersals went for that then.
Anthony, you stand on the right you will have the lead role and be in charge of the sky pad.
Georgie, you stand on the left with a mic in your hand say nothing and just STFU!

Anthony, not Ted.
Georgie's just a 'pawn' to Davidson. Just a **** poor excuse to act as a kind of anchor to give Davidson loaded 'questions', for him to do his thing on the Sky pad (which he does very well). Talk about a wasted member - and a waste of a substantial salary! - of the presenting team. She normally just says one or two scripted sentences per airing!
She's simply not required, as far a I can see.

Fabulous coverage, was gutted when the Beeb decided to share it. But picture quality and in depth review and analysis is just fantastic.
Next week we get the GP2 races too.
Many of the other programmes that have been shown on 408 have also been well worth watching.
Overall nine and a half out of ten. Enjoyed the walk after the race finish.
