A Prison is a excellent location, if you can make it secure, the surround fence should be strong enough to hold back many an attack and the walls are high and doors secure.
Another option is a large ship, docked out at sea with smaller boats to do food and supply runs. The Zombies, even those walking under water can't get up to the ship. If you dock in a safe location and then treat it as a building, IE build fires etc, you should be good till it rots and sinks lol.

Supermarket.
Roller shutter door to keep the living dead out. A roof top to have some fun shooting them all in the head with my 2 rifles, and all the food I can eat.

getting food into the prison would be a problem as the zombies would surrounding the prison and you would then be besieged.
A boat is a good idea, but the zombies would climb up the anchor and chain and get ontot he ship, I suppose the only solution is to be moving all the time and never stationary, this does create its own problems.

i like your ideas, problem with the prison one is if there are zombies everywhere, how would you get out to get supplys? and would the gates work if there is now power?
the ship is a good idea, as long as non get on it. and you can go where you want. again fuel will be a probelm, but food you get get from the sea, and water should be ok.
if it was me, i think ill be on the ship and just for fun, a few sniper rifles to pick them off on the shaw line lol

Considerations when choosing accomodations during a zombie outbreak:
Safety: Has the structure been thoroughly cleared of undead and is it locked down and fortified to prevent unwanted entry?
Defensibility: Can you defend your new home from an undead assault or marauding band of looters?
Detection: The best defense is not being found in the first place. Can the undead hear or smell you from outside? Does your home look enticing to marauders who may want to evict you?
Escape Access: Do you have a secure second exit if your position becomes overrun?
Sustainability: Is there an accessible source of food, water, or alternative power?
Sanity: Is there room for more than just you? After a few weeks it can get awful lonely as “the last man on earth”. And if you are with a group, do you have a good supply of books or board games to entertain the troops?

You've clearly given an unhealthy amount of consideration to this particular promblem

This is a difficult one. Assuming everyone who is bitten is turned, and they don't stay inside watching Eastenders, the streets would be awash with dead people. Driving would be almost impossible unless you have a tank, and even then how could you refuel.
Urban areas would be totally packed with them in the streets, nothing like it shows on tv shows. I can't think of a safe place, no amount of guns would help. Maybe the ship idea, a big ship.

^Not bad for a survival skill. Fight, fight, freeze or fake.
It will allow you to live a bit longer than on a ship, or in an iron-walled accommodation.
You can go for another "F", which is F for "face". Face them for not to to fight with them, nor to **** yourself with fright in front of them- but to mirror them as close as to real. This means get bitten by them and become one of them. See, whether you hide yourself in a ship or in a secure-as-hell prison, you are fcuked as a living dead with fear. In such case, you might as well become a zombie. At least they will become your mates.

i had a meeting in sheffield yesterday and tbh, looking around me, I thought I was in the middle of a Zombie outbreak
but I did think, in a worried moment, maybe and old fashioned castle with drawbridge
and helipad

It depends on the type of zombie. If it's one of those f*ckers out of the newer films that run then forget it... ship would be required I think. But if all they can do is stagger after you making groaning noises then you're free to have a bit of a laugh hitting them with axes and the like. In that case I'd probably just sit in my house playing CoD until a bunch arrived. "Aw hi there, guys, come in. CHECK OUT MY CHAINSAW!"

I could get to Bull Fort in the River Humber pretty quickly, just need to learn how to fish and would need a way of purifying water...

I feel like that in London. The masses there look so impersonal and lacklustre, like hundreds of sombre-faced spirits clothed in their own mechanical bodies, walking on a zebra crossing on the command of their invisible chief zombie. Hardly anyone smiles back there. It gives me a very eerie feeling indeed. Next time, I will blast Thriller on my iPod whilst on the tube. Let's see if some stange phenomenon takes place e.g. Londoners on the tube turning into those big fanged proper zombies.

After watching that well known zombie related show, I always did wonder why they didn't protect the farm better. They had access to farm machinery, so I would have spent some time digging a 20 foot trench around the perimiter, with a draw bridge for access.
I've also thought about this whole situation once too much (continues reading how to make a crossbow guide)
