Would you say it is reasonably safe for three lads to busk on the streets? This would be in the upmarket areas with a licence.

Should be fine as long as they do not wander into bad areas which is easily done. 4 of us driving back to LAX came off of the highway and onto the local streets and where diverted due to a shooting, we ended up in an area we really did not want to be in...still, survived to tell the tale.

Thanks guys. The stupid thing is when I was their age I lived in Washington DC which was then murder capital of the world Used to go clubbing till late and hitch home - the crazy things you do when young.

Music is OK actually and there is an Irish lad in the band so he might be an asset

I think you need a permit to busk in Los Angeles.

Yeah I mentioned in my post that they will get a licence (permit). Don't want them to have a run in with the cops.

I met a british girl busking in Santa Monica a couple of years ago. She was spending a year or so busking around the LA area and playing small venues, hoping to get spotted. From what I remember she was sticking mainly to the beach areas.
