Employment - daily rate and salary

I have been offered a contract of employment with a small company. The company charges out its services based on a daily rate.
I know how much I will be sold to the clients that I work for in terms of a day rate - is there a direct correlation between the day rate charged to clients and the salary of the person delivering the service? What I mean is, if my new company sells my services at a rate of £500 per day, can I expect to be paid a salary equivalent to £100, £200 or £300 per day? or is the company likely to offer me a salary that they think is matched to my experience, and sell their service for what ever rates they choose?

Which is somewhat like saying that theyll charge as much as they can get away with, whilst paying you as little as they can get away with...
Theres no correlation between the two rates though.

I used to get charged out at 1050 a day, 950 a day to good customers. If it was far away an additional 120 a day expenses charge was added
That was early 2000-2004 I guess when the market rates were that high
Recently its around 5-600 mark with no expenses and sometimes as low as 350 a day depending on the customer
Like others have said, it is what you can get away with charging against market rates etc
In all of the above scenarios I got paid approx 100 a day gross, plus company car / fuel card etc
