Weekend looming? Have a classic Trance mix on moi!
Tracklisted this a bit ago. Wanted to do a classics mix with a mixture of well known and forgotton stuff aethetically pleasing to the ear
The difference with this and other recent mixes is it was done on both my trusty Pioneer CDJ1000 mk3's and my Technics 1210 mk3D
I've not done a recorded mix using CD and vinyl together for years so if it's a bit rusty my apologies - same goes for gains and ye olde vinyl crackle too, give it character The mix is straight recorded off the above onto my PC (which is tired) so there is a couple of slight jumps in the reocrding (buffering at a guess). As always no mastering, no tweaking, just a live recording
Enjoy, and let me know if the download link doesn't work.

Another link if the above is a PITA.

I usually look at keys and BPM's before hand, yeah. Mainly as I've got that many choons on CD or vinyl it's impossible to remember them all
Sometimes I just record on the fly

Good man. Mr Sinky, let us know how you get on, at worst when I'm finished 2-10 I'll trip load to another site. It's a large file due to being 320kbps and some only allow upto 200mb files.

It will show the biggest 'Download' link for downloading iLivid, use the one by the track name to simply download the MP3.

Cheers guys, the site is misleading as it's probably wanting you to pay for "premium" membership so throws other 'download' buttons for software etc. It's harmless but unnecessary for downloading this .mp3 mix.
Glad you guys like.

TBH, I don't know enough to offer technical feedback. I'd say track selection though. That said, I've only listened to it once the whole way through and sometimes it takes a bit for everything to gel.

The second link worked a treat
Yea the mixing is really good and everything was lined up very well
it is clear to see you have a lot of talent with the deck's and your mixing is very good
I am going to upload it onto my Ipad so when I go offshore today I can listen to the mix when I am on the oilrig as well.
Cheers for uploading your mix Andy I liked it a lot

Thanks guys, plenty of tracks on vinyl or cd to do another one if you guys want? Could do a more underground, dark, summery... Whatever really. I like doing mixes where people listen and remember the forgotten stuff but still remember 'the good days' of trance and progressive. I'll see what I can track lost for a 'volume 2'.

Right, I have listened to this the whole way through a few times and it's from 1:35 onwards that I really don't like it. I think that constitutes the last two tracks. Brainbug - Nightmare is a classic and it has it's place. However, I feel both of these tracks are at odds with the vibe of the rest of the mix and they close it out on two extreme a note. They are just a bit too full on IMHO. Mixing is great though.

Ah, I totally get where you're coming from now. Yeah the Quo Vadis track remix is a typical techy nimber from Yomanda, aka Paul Masterson. The track itself is different but mixed in well with the previous Conductor and Cowboy mix of Sonique. I tried to finish the mix on a more techy, dark edge hense the choice of remixes for the last two tracks deviating a bit. One way I could of got around this was maybe to add a couple more dark techy tracks afterwards but I did like the way the Brainbug remix dies out.
I do appreciate your input though, gives me ideas for 'volume 2' which I'm track listing. This will be a proggy start building to a very dark vibe. Maybe more forgotten stuff, we'll see.
I'm glad people liked it though and some have taken the time to offer constructive feedback. I'm not one of those DJs with a fame complex that's unable to take constructive criticism (otherwise I'd fail miserably on here ).
See when I have time for another one
