What 3D film to watch?
Hello!
Ok just bought a 3DTV and will be working on running cables etc through the wall before mounting etc etc.
Any way, i'm just thinking of what 3D film to try out once its ready?
i'll probably get Cars 2 for the kids, but are there any that aren't cheesy horror pirhana eating boobies kind of films. Has anything like the matrix been converted to 3D yet?
Also any recommendations on blue ray players?

best 3d player is ps3, thats what most people use, its what I use. if not get one that matches your tv. Samsung and panny are good. as for the film, I found Rio carnival 3d was brilliant for the "pop out" effects, also if you like bike racing TT3d was very good, when you get a few films, let me know always looking for swaps, ive got about 15 3d films now.

Avatar?
Despicable Me - child friendly and the 3d effects in the end credits were very funny and over the top 'pop out' on purpose!
(I saw it at pics - presume its out on Blu-Ray)

I have heard that the passive is better but the viewing angles are limited??
Also heard that active gives alot of people headaches??
Don't know if either is true but I am still on the look out for a 3dtv

Seen both types now ,
lg or was it samsung passive - entertaining , definitely worth over no 3d - it was a short clip though ( sports ) and glasses were half weight of the specs i wear all the time
plasma active some kind of film , very smooth and detailed but after about a minute whether imagined or otherwise had feeling eyes were being strained - also glasses were on a stand so couldnt feel the weight
So still in a quandary

I have thor, smurfs, tin tin, captain america, transformers, pirates of the caribean (new one) despicable me, narnia, open season, ice age 3, tt3d, plus others cant remember of the top of my head. Cartoons are always way better than films for 3d as they are designed to be 3d.
Coffin, not sure I doubt it mate, I heard it will be general released before the end of the year. get it watched its great.

The new Avengers film i thought was amazing in 3D, like the first film that was shot specifically for it. The way the cars span over the top of each other and to a degree i forgot i was even watching a 3D film.
Avatar sounds like a good bet.
I download a lot of films (legally of course ) whats blue-ray like for downloading?

I have tried 3d films, but getting them to play has proved a bit of a ball ache (playing them on a PC is no problem, but I wanna watch them on my big 3d TV!). I ended up trying the half SBS ones, but they rarely looked good. I think I would just buy the 3d version if I wanted it that bad, or watch then on Sky 3d.

SBS is side by side, if you play the file it'll be one image split, but if played through a 3d tv . The tv merges them and gives a 3D image
And no it won't work on a DVD
