Think its very well scripted and you do need to be a bit bit of a geek to get some of the scifi jokes but even if your not its still a hoot.

I can't see how people find this sort of thing funny. It just creaks from one contrived situation and gag to another.

I find 'How I met you Mother' reasonably funny but most US comedy is ****e.

Laurel and Hardy still crack me up .... I watched a 1919 sketch a while back on DVD - I had no idea that DVD was about then! Maybe the yanks had it first?

Cougar Town was good, although going off the boil in the 3rd (and probably the last) series.
Family Guy has a few decent episodes still and I would recommend Archer too.
