my v6 bora
hi all , i know it cant be compared to a scooby in terms of speed and power , but it is a lovely motor to drive and the v6 is really smooth and torquey . i said id post some pics of it when its done . ive done the folowing mods and all was done my myself including the prep for respray .
. remove bump strip on front bumper and smoothed out
. fk side skirts
. 19 " rs6 alloys in chrome with falken 452's
. de-badged grille
. filled and smoothed bonnet where badge was
. black oem headlights
. pressed plates
. lip spoiler
. colour coded vw badge
. autobra
. wind deflectors
. respray in "harvest moon beige / gloss black roof , grille and mirrors "
im happy with how its turned out but really do miss the kick of a turbocharged motor ! so im going to put it up for sale relatively soon and replacing with a skyline r33 gts-t gonna have a go at building my dream car . thanks for looking heres some pics .

That was going soooo well til I got to the last pic
You get a lot of car for the £ with a bora, and like you say they drive really well, build quality is excellent and theyre cheap to mod. I saw a V5 Bora sell for £700 on ebay recently, not bad if you're after some cheap grunt.

It's gonna be a lot of money wasted (a bit like the Subaru ended up being) when you sell it fella
As you say you've tried it, but the cash wasted on the Impreza and the Bora would have bought you an R33 GT-r not GTst

I didn't see many last Sunday. I'd like a black Sportline, though as a dogmobile, that may be a little excessive.
Still haven't seen you up there. I'd have given you my spare wetsuit and put you in the lake with the dogs.

Yeah me too, and i have one, it's a T4 crew cab pickup 4x4, rare as rocking horse poo with diamond studs.
Not a fan of the bra, and what were you thinking when you painted the console white apart from that it looks ok if you like that sort of thing.
JESUS you sure know how to waste time and money, you really should have kept the scoob.
I suggest you try and get your impulsive nature under control, otherwise it's going to cost you an absolute fortune throughout the course of your life, in that once you get an idea in your head you just won't let go, nothing wrong with determination, you just need to work on your direction, i'm not trying to be your dad, and at least it keeps you busy.
Hope it works out for you..

A good technical exercise i suppose, i can understand why things like this are done, if you ever f***** it up, it's only an 11 year old motor at the end of the day and it looks like you done a good job of it.
The only constructive thing i could add is to paint the rear badge black.

Looks good, as has already been said lose the bra, and paint the mirrors too. Other than that it looks good. I bet it sounds good too, I had a V5 Bora years ago and that sounded sweet.

truth be told i realised how much work was involved smoothing the front so didnt want to do it all again on the rear cant smooth the badge on boot as the lock for key is built in so would need solenoid etc . it doesnt sound that great imo it needs a nice exhaust system .
