Default Booked my Flights to Amsterdam for my Stag

After weeks of searching for a decent location for my Stag do, I've settled on Amsterdam, 9 of us so far have booked our flights ..

Personally I want a nice hotel as I plan to be very hung over, so any suggestions would be great ..

Can't do better than the Hotel Intercontinental Amstel. I normally have an executive suite with a river view.

Very nice, but at 760 Euros a night (the price on their website for one night next week) it ain't cheap!

And I expect you'd still have to pay extra for WiFi!

They must have changed the minimum booking, maybe through the summer months as we stayed for 3 nights. I can't really recommend anything else decent and reasonable sorry as the last few times we went we stayed in cheap squaller
Hotel RHO is very nice on Dam Sqaure but a bit on the expensive side tbh.

Too late now if you've already booked your flights but you can get sometimes get some cracking hotel deals through Easyjet holidays. I had one short stay at the Krasnopolsky with more or less effectively free flights I would certainly recommend it - there is nothing quite like from getting back from a night out and finding a little box of chocolates and a card waiting from you because the receptionist has realised it's your birthday

After a night out .. I'd rather have (what happened to my friend) two very lovely ladies waiting in his room, called Night and Day (black and white obviously) BUT saying that, I'm getting married because I'm fed up with meaningless sex with complete strangers .. wait ..

They had been paid for by his mates.

I didn't pay anywhere near that

First time we went we spent a night on a barge which was fine in the cold light of day, but after a few of Amsterdams treats and a few bevvies, it was decidedly dodgy walking to the end of a long jetty The Ibis is quite reasonable.

I had one of the best weekends of my life in Amsterdam, didn't drink, just munched on magic mushrooms every night, completely legal and definitely something you have to try when you are there.

Ok, so apparently the weekend of my stag is some huge conference, so booking a hotel was a nightmare.

Finally found somewhere taking all 10 of us, in twin rooms .. which is a bit gay .. lol

Anyway, the cost of activities seems to be crazy, £89 for go-karting? Does anyone have any suggestions for activities, or know anyone that arranges this kind of thing ? I know there are companies and I'm in touch with a few already, but they just don't seem trustworthy ..

Amsterdam for a stag do, how original.

Been to Amsterdam twice, 1st time was about 10yrs ago on a drunken football tour, we done the usual window shopping stuff, got drunk and I thought it was good. Went back again with the missus 2yrs ago and my opinion changed, thought it was really ****, stupidly expensive and would never go back again.

RLD is okay but once you've done it once there's no need to go back, it's old and grotty and full of smack heads following you about wanting to sell you drugs. Everything else is just extortionate, with the crap £ to EUR rate, its a massive tourist rip off. I felt it was like Blackpool, stuck in the 90's at times. Missus hated it, even the sex show was boring, just 'actors' going through the motions with them looking disinterested.

I am approaching 30 now, a good friend of mine is getting married next year and suggested Amsterdam for his stag but we quickly talked him out of it. Its not the best place for a **** up and like said once the RLD is done, you're left scratching your head what to do next. Would rather get pissed in the Spanish drinking resorts than head back there so that's what we've done.

How old are you? If its your first time and with a big group of you going, you'll probably enjoy the first night at least.

I stayed here http://www.hotels.nl/amsterdam/luxer/# a few years ago when I went over on a stag weekend. The accommodation is about the only thing I remember

It's a short walk from the train station and is close to all the **** and stuff.

What goes on in the dam, stays in the dam. It was a laugh though!!

I must say I agree. I went a few times between the ages of 18-22 and found it really tedious and seedy even at that young age (and I quite like seedy) after the novelty of obvious legalities wore off.

Now I'm pretty sure I'd find it awful.

I would have headed somewhere like Latvia/Lithuania/Ukraine

Have fun chap.

Why not try an Ibis hotel? Pretty cheap and clean.

It's a bit boring after a couple of days but still good fun.

Just watch out for the crack heads and pushers. Also I reccomend if you do "take anything" do your best to stay in a group as there a like in many big towns muggers etc.

The Red Light zone is getting smaller and smaller so make the most of it and enjoy the view. lol
