have to say im not realy surprised by this, i have a feeling it woudl have been sucide for the union to strike in that way. They would have lost all credability in the public eyes.
whats other folks thought on it?

Whilst I don't agree that they should strike on the Olympic eve.... I do feel a bit sorry for them.....
The Border Agency is a joke - the government cut huge numbers of staff left, right & centre, and then wonder why there are massive queues in places like Heathrow, and they can't keep track of everyone leaving & coming into the country.
If it was up to me we'd have loads more on every desk, in every port. When was the last time you actually *SAW* a Border Officer in the luggage area/nothing to declare aisle..... it used to be common sight, people getting pulled over to check their bags - I haven't seen one for years & years now!
