Default cash problem =(

It took me a year or so to save up 5k NZD for a new blob STI. I am selling my WRX for 8k NZD to put towards the blob and the blobs over here cost around 16K NZD.

But at this stage I am eating through my savings just to survive on daily basis and my goal of getting the blob before november looks impossible!

Pretty depressing at this stage, dont know what to do because I study full time and I pay all the bills and I barely get any money to spare.

Anyone been through such an experience? please share your story and I might get some motivation on how you got through it

There are some people who can't even afford Hi Tec trainers.

You need to get a sense of perspective.

Agreed, not like I can afford it at this stage anyway. The financial situation just got bad recently that's why. To be honest, apart from the financial state, everything else has been pretty rough too.
Guess just a bad phase in life.

The fact that you are asking the question shows that you can't afford it.
No shame in that at all. Besides, despite what people tell you, in the real world, there isn't a lot of difference wrx and sti. Yes, the sti is a bit faster, handles a bit better and is easier to mod. But you haven't missed out on one off lifes best kept secrets if you never get to own one.

Any idiot can earn money, but it takes a clever man to spend it!

Don't buy it if you are short of dosh. They are a money pit at the best of times, and with insurance, tax etc, it will fleece you.

Just wait, your time will come.

You mean has anybody ever gone through stages in their life when they can't afford 'luxury' items that they would like to buy? I doubt it, sounds like a very unique situation to me....

Not being able to afford an expensive luxury. Having to slum it in order to save cash to buy something i clearly can't afford in the first place. Real world problems!

As it's been mentioned above, take a step back re analyse the situation mate - Some things are more important than what car you have.

Not a bad idea to get a classic but hard to find decent ones over here but everything should be fine in a few months time as we have already started planning how to get in a stable position and then here comes the Blob!

If you start spending heavily as soon as you get straight, it will only go 'nipple skywards' again.
Be smart, not greedy! I haven't had an Impreza since Feb 2008 and I still yearn for another one. But a wife, child and mortgage take priority these days.

Your priority should be your studies. Bettering yourself so that you can be more successful in the future.

As others have said, welcome to the real world.
