Apart from the rather moronic/misguided comment about committing burglaries requiring bravery, I don't think the judge is that far off base here. The perp was stealing to feed a habit, which he's now kicked, and if he puts a foot wrong for the next xx months he goes straight inside. Assuming he does stay clean, I'd sooner see him sweeping streets unpaid for a few weeks than getting bed and board inside, paid for by my taxes.

I posted it on my FB this morning, christ I had a lot of response.

it is ridiculous. the judge let him go because "he got his drug habit in jail".

I mean, WTF. Two things seriously wrong here, (1) he shouldnt get a drug habit, its jail ffs.
(2) he ended up in jail coz he was a bad egg to begin with.

The bloke and other w@nkers like him must be laughing their *** off.

Tell you what, might be easier if we just leave doors unlocked, so at least when we get robbed, the locks dont get damaged. Some people are just not on the same planet as the rest of us.

Judges before being appointed should need to take some sort of intelligence test as this one would quite clearly have failed. I'm glad he is being investigated and hopefully removed from his duties as he is not fit to be a judge.
