Question Olympic Park - What time to arrive?

Hello,

Myself and eldest daughter are going to the Olympic Stadium on Saturday which starts at 10am. Our current train arrives at Stratford Int at 9:30. Will this be enough time to get through security and get to the stadium? The London 2012 website says to allow 2.5 hours, but I'm not getting a train at 5:30. I may be able to leave at 6:30 to get there at 8:30, but is that too soon?

cheers

Nimbus - me and the family too!

I found that the London2012 suggested a complex route into the Stadium. I assume your going to West Ham? I'm trying to make it there about 09:00 leaving an hour to get in.

The National Rail website (www.nationalrail.co.uk) offered a journey from our local station that arrives at the same time but an hour less journey time overall!

I'm getting to London via St Pancras and will get to Stratford on the Javelin. Just don't want to miss anything by getting into the Stadium late.

Are you going there on Saturday too? We are both really excited.

Yes Saturday in the Stadium 10:00 session. I'm excited, not sure about the rest of them :-)

Actually just looked and West Ham is miles away. Another black mark against TFL for suggesting that!

After checking with a few others I've booked a train that 40 mins earlier (one before this leaves at 5:30 which is a no-go). That should give is a bit more time

Out of interest, where will you be sitting? We are in the ground tier in block 120. I've checked a map and it looks like a decent spot half way round the corner after the start/finish line.

Block 132 - so also ground tier, on the opposite side to the 100m straight - I know we have a number of 100m events, but I think we just will enjoy being there apart from anything else.
