any self employed couriers here?
been offered a full time job working as a sub contract courier for large company (done through my step moms dad) HOWEVER this would mean i need to sell up the scooby to buy a decent newish Transit or similar.
Having a hard time making the decision so was wondering if there was any self employed couriers who can tell me if the jobs worth it or not!

I know couriers and there is no money in it anymore, they used to be on good money, now the companies want more drops for less pay and your money doesn't go up when fuel does and courier insurance is very expensive too. You would make more money stacking shelves in tesco!

Possibly late to the table with this one, but was speaking (arguing) with a courier on Friday who brought me 2 pallets of equipment in a LWB transit van. I had no idea what time it would arrive, once it did, I had to make a call to someone who can drive a fork lift to unload the thing.
He was crying his eyes out because his company only give him 6 minutes per drop, otherwise his handheld device thing, reports that his is running late. There is not a cat in hells chance that a delivery can me made to my organisation in this timeframe. If the boxes had not been packed onto pallets, it would have been a manual offloading exercise, again, there is no way it would be offloaded in six minutes.
