The FTSE seems to have more or less stagnated in recent weeks yet the CAC, DAX and Wall St have all risen steadily overall.
Any financial experts out there know why that is when I keep reading our markets are intrinsically linked to those of Europe?
Just intersted to know!

European markets have rallied because the crisis there is perceived as having been averted. Droghi has been very forceful in supporting the Eurozone, and the German parliament has approved the bailout fund.
The UK meanwhile, is still unsure whether the "Golden Summer" has been good for business or not, very mixed signals.

Think you are seeing some rotation too, as people have been bearish on Europe shorts are being covered, fresh longs instigated....some of those funds could well be realised from covering hedges in long UK and US positions....
FTSE isn't really a good barometer of UK business, heavily weighted in global mining stocks
