Floods
Anyone had a great time with the floods, seen the a1 was closed today and yesterday I took my car through a big flood in Huddersfield and I was scared my car would get stuck but luckily I made it and kept it in 1st gear without letting off.

For the last two nights my deliveries have been Newcastle, so it's been fun
There's been more roads closed than there's been ones open

I thought it best not to risk it this way coming home last night (this was the A66 near Darlington):
Managed to detour a bit and wasn't too bad in the end.

I got woken this morning at 5.50 by the loudest, longest clap of thunder i have ever heard. I honestly thought my house was falling down.
Then my brother emailed this link to me at work and i realised i had got off lightly

I really feel sorry for those poor people who get their bottom floors filled with mucky water.
Imagine the hassle trying to clear it all out and to get rid of the smell too.

A lot of people dont realise that when it floods it raises the sewer water so it's pretty much sewerage in your house,
When toll bar / bently got flooded a few years back it was one hell of a job up there for us trying to sort the rentals out asap to get the tenents back in them, infact DIY SOS was up there with us doing one house and the local pub
,.
