Default Ferry bookings.......how odd.

Just been on t'internet looking for bookings for the ferry to France to go back to the house to do some MORE work.

"Strangely" the prices have ALL added £20 per crossing since I first thought about going back.

However, on ringing P&O, I found out two things: the web price is LESS than the price with a 50% discount I get for being a shareholder, (Yes, I know, but my dad left them me), and dafter still, the shareholder price for a single voyage is EXACTLY tha same as for a return!

£70 return, midday, Sunday out, Sunday back. Not bad, really.

Think of the Subaru's fuel bill and it'll make the crossing charge seem like pennies mon frere

Try www.norfolkline.com instead. Usually cheaper and on nicer boats. They go to Dunkirk rather than Calais but that means no queues to get into the port on the way home.

I usually do, but THEIR price has gone from £32 to £42 to £52 in a week.

They wouldn't budge, either.

Plus I'm going over on one of the big new P&O boats, the "Spirit of France".

And before anyone says it, no it won't give in half way there!

Oh..and last time I came home via DFDS, I arrived at the port 1 hour 15 minutes before my sailing, but, due to the ineptitude of the UK border control, I boarded the ferry 7 minutes before it was due to sail and they had to delay it 30 minutes

So it doesn't matter HOW good DFDS are, UK border control will fek it for them too

You should thank your lucky stars , I'm going to Jersey to do the rally in 2 weeks and we were quoted £795 to take the van and trailer over with Con-you , sorry condor ferries , I felt as though I had pulled a fast one when we were 'only' actually charged £666 ! I daren't mention on the rally forum the price I paid in case they hear about it and charge me the extra
