Gov u-turn. No. 435 In a never ending series

Obviously something was going to come out the woodwork when Branson took them to court. So the Government caved in and said "eeerrr , yeah, err we made a mistake" Rather than get exposed in court as cosying up their chums at First Direct.
What a bunch of clowns. At least when Labour get back in in 2015 we will have properly run public services.

She lost her job in the reshuffle. The new Transport Secretary, Patrick McLoughlin, told the Commons as recently as 12 September he was satisfied all bids were considered fairly and with "due diligence".
Now, the day before Virgin's High Court legal challenge was due to start, the Department of Transport has admitted to "completely unacceptable mistakes."

This is a complete debacle by any standards. Funny that they released the news when media were mostly reporting on Labour conference
I bet Justine Greening is pleased she was moved out of the department. Industry insiders say that even Branson's bid was far too generous.
But a question. Branson, and all the others, will get back the cost of bidding which could be around £50m. But how on earth can it cost £10m plus to put a bid in? Sure it's a complicated tender but it's mostly number crunching isn't it?

I don't think the DOT made 'mistake'. Some form of corruption or fraud was/is going on, this alleged mistake is just someone covering their ***** becuase they've been found out IMO.
I just need to wait for a whistle blower to sell their story.
LMAO

Pontificating
Give him his own sub forum and ban him from all of the others, if anyone wants to entertain Peter they know where to go, you could call it the Peter Files
Er hold on a moment, probably not the best name for a sub forum as you'd be over subscribed before you knew it....
