Default 2nd Dates and what to do ?

Bit of background

6 mths ago split with the ex of 15 yrs, got into the dating scene, wow, how its changed !

Anyhoo, had about 7 or 8 dates using the online dating sites, yes, i know but it seems the way of the world, seems nobody likes being chatted up in abar/club anymore !

So,out of those 7 or 8 dates ive had 1 or 2 2nd and 3rd dates but they were just round my house for a coffee/chat etc then round her place for the same type of thing, seemed a bit boring to me

Anyhoo, to the point ! i met a woman last night whose a bit younger than me but we clicked online so met up and got on great, so another meet has been arranged for a couple of days time, my question, what to do on the date, it cant be for long as she has to be back to get up early so 3 or 4 hrs tops, dont really want to do another pub so what is there to do at 8pmish midweek in a quiet town area LOL, i could suggest coming back to mine to watch a movie etc but she has done that on other 2nd dates so dont want to repeat the same type of evening for her

any info appreciated, good or bad

I'm in the same boat and I'm currently using a dating site as I don't like the idea of meeting someone on a night out.

I would suggest finding out an activity that she likes to do, obviously something that you don't mind doing as well and finding a way of doing that together. If you make it look like have put effort in to think of something to do chances are she will pick up on it and be willing to meet you again.

So on this dating website she sign up, did it have hobbies/interests? If so, why not do something along those lines.

Unless it's pilates or something equally as uninteresting.

Maybe bowling?

What kind of Music?
What sort of films?
What books does she like to read?

Answers to these could help you...

I know what films she likes but for a date, the cinema or watching a dvd etc isnt really that good is it as you have to be quiet to watch the film, kinda defeats the point of a date doesnt it, or am i wrong ?

I have found a place where there is some music playing i think she will like but again, is a band playing o.k as i probably wont be able to hear her talk (not a bad thing LOL)

or am i looking into it all too much LOL (probably)

Why not a meal ? Something better than McD's and Pizza Hut, but not quite The Fat Duck for date 2.

Its not cheap tho this dating lark, you can spend from say, £20 to £50 a date depending on how it goes, what you do !

And the woman dont pay, maybe they should LOL but being a true gentleman, cough cough LOL, i dont let them, but most dont even try to !

Finding love, who needs it ha ha

GroupOn Just go to the loo and pay on the way back so she doesn't think you're a cheapskate

Have to say, one of the things that drew me to my missuse was that she offered to pay half right from the off. Not sure I'd cope too well on the dating scene with free-loaders, unless they definitely paid in other ways

I like the 'younger' bit. Already with kids is dodgy, but I suppose not uncommon these days. The way things are in my family I might be doing this **** before long, but TBH I think a single life with either hookers or swingers would suit me more than having the constant irritation of another bloody wimminz in my life.

A nice drive and a picnic
Yes a flask and sandwiches ,fruit etc

Yes it sounds like a cheap skate but it's a way to find out if she wants you or your cash
That's what impressed me about my misses 14 years ago when we started to go out was her picnics and cups of tea rather then expensive cafes as she was used to living on a budget despite being a wealthy widow and would always pay her share

Lots of money grabbers about so best to start how you want to go on

Just take her to heaven and back!

Or go to a free museum/exhibition/street market/festival. Move around a bit to different venues as well, makes her think you're fun and exciting going to lots of places. Find a good tapas place near you, they are fun and informal

Smash her back doors in

Take her for a McDonalds.

Find out if her dad is a police officer, stalk around the area she lives, post photos on SN of her and a link to her facebook page, claim it's all a joke once we point out that you're claiming to be married on a separate thread. Not that that sort of thing happens on here

Go karting.

If you can't think of something to do to entertain her,you will find it even more difficult in time yet to come.

Nah, you want to be able to chat, band in a pub will be too loud and you'll spend most of the evening away from it.

To be honest when I started dating my now wife after meeting on the 'net it was usually eating out. First date was in a fairly average chain type pub picked more for convenience than anything else, after we'd figured out we clicked and neither of us were axe murders we arranged the next date. This time a nice pub out in the country, good food, log fires, that kind of thing. We sat on the sofa by the fire after dinner and had a cuddle, followed by a bit of tonsil hockey in the car park I invited her over to mine for dinner the following weekend, followed by another restaurant date (nice little Italian place), and after that I was invited to hers to help with some decorating but was asked to bring an overnight bag Rest is history as they say
