Default Digital areial

Friend gave me ( insisted on it ) his 'digital' 48? Line? bla bla bla, cost him 200 quid plus to get installed, after getting not much with other aerials...he lives about a mile from transmitter
But possibly behind a hill..
Aerial I have looks alright to me and picks up all the advertised channels from the relay station 5 mile away, but he insisted I'd get more channels

I don't,surprise surprise, but maybe I Havnt been dead accurate with the positioning ,or maybe he doesn't know what he's talking about

I didn't think you needed a 'digital' aerial. Just a digital receiver.

I know it's crap, I'm just very curious as to why he doesn't know it either, he's been Rolls Royce engineer as a living

The only proviso is he believes ill pick up another transmitter, some 60 miles away

Your relay could be a freeview lite transmitter. I google search could tell you if it did.

Not sure what a rolls Royce engineer has to do with aerials though

An aerial will receive efficiently whatever frequency signal it is tuned for, digital or otherwise!

A digital aerial is a wideband aerial covering the whole transmission spectrum. By having a wideband aerial you have the opportunity to pull in transponders that a narrow band aerial couldn't

If you're on a freeview lite transmitter then you could benefit pointing to the main transmitter which will give you more channels
