WTF!! Why would anyone even remotely consider it a good idea to drink liquid at around -200°C let alone have a bar serve it to customers!! ![Cuckoo](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cuckoo.gif)

Jeesus!
I can think that it would cool the drink and make an amazing spectacle with the vapour, but SURELY someone should have told her and the bar-staff that you DON'T drink it until it stops vapourising, ie: when the Nitrogen has gone?
I reckon someone ought to do jail time for this.
But no-one will.

Stupid question may be but how is she supposed to live without a stomach?
Also, I pretty sure someone will be convicted for this. It is basically man-slaughter isn't it?
Poor girl.

It's basically a like gastric bypass, you can still eat, but only in small quantities and at frequent intervals. She is lucky to be alive and maybe there are grounds to sue the establishment that sold her the 'drink'.

Totally mental have bar staff handling what is a very dangerous substance, having had warts burnt off with a tiny bit of it on a cotton bud I have a lot of respect for it, poor girl, should never have been a possibility, Jaegermeister is bad enough on its own, never mind using Liquid Nitrogen as a mixer, there is a turning point in a given evening, and that point is when the Jaeger comes out, I can't hack it any more, crazy stuff, it's like spicy, alcoholic Cuprinol shed paint with a dash of mental thrown in.

Throw it on someones face and the liquid nitrogen will boil and the vapour will form an insulating layer. Like dropping water on a red hot plate and the drops skip across the surface.
Objects need to be immersed so that the surface cools enough for the liquid nitrogen to stay liquid.. or you throw a lot of liquid nitrogen..

I would have thought that she might have been suspicious enough not to drink it until the nitrogen had boiled off, but she doubtless did not realise the danger and that should certainly have been explained to her by the barman.
I feel very sorry for her-she is now adversely affected for life.
I hope the publicity about it will save others in the future.

Perfectly good point, but its a bit restrictive forbidding it and that would probably make the problem even worse anyway.
You could say the same about setting glasses of brandy alight at Christmas too.

to an extent les yeah, but most people know how to deal with fire and its dangers
not so with this stuff - is there no license for buying/using it?
but yeah weve all seen the videos of idiots setting themselves on fire with alcohol by mistake - but atleast they knew what they were doing

Having worked quite a lot with LNG at a temp of around -165c there is no way any bar tender should be messing around with this stuff as it is lethal in the wrong hands.

It felt like it at times too. We were changing a NRV on one of the inlets, the scenario if anything went wrong was not worth thinking about, the adrenaline rush was good though as we had just 30 mins to carry out the operation.
