Default Orange changing terms and conditions

This is the second time they have done this since we have had broadband with them.

Am I right in thinking that any change makes the contract void?

Basically the service as well as the wireless router are both very poor and I am looking for a way out.

I remember last time the girlfriend got out of her phone contract early.

If i recall,

it gives you the right to end the contract due to unreasonable terms

you may however be bound to fulfill certain parts of the contract, ie return equipment etc

You have a certain period of time to reject the changes and end the contract - beyond that date you are deemed to have accepted the changes.

If you can get away from Orange - I would!! They lie, they scheme, they are simply nasty people to deal with!!

I've found that a lot of providers get around this now by stating something in the small print of the contract that you sign. Thia refers to something along the lines of "bla bla increases within inflation, bla bla, no more than "x"% in any 12/18/24 months".

So if they put your bill up by a couple quid every year which meets a certain clause in their contract, they get away with it?

I've noticed some mobile contracts having this and your average person (see halfwit wanting the newest gadget) isn't gonna check.

Virgin Media put my bill up by about £3.25 in April and again this month by about £4. Works out about 9% of my usual monthly cost for TV/broadband/phone rental. Complained and just haggled multiroom, a TiVo box and faster internet.

That's my take on it anyway. I'd love to know how you get out of something stipulated in said contracts if there is a way.

Ho ho, you think Orange in the UK are bad?

Try dealing with Orange/France Telecom......now THEY could give lessons in double-dealing

Orange Salesmen/women lie through their backteeth to hook you into a deal .... then you find you haven't got what was promised!!

A recorded telephone conversation is the only way to prove what you say is true .... in fact, just do NOT deal with Orange at all .........

Orange are the worst company to deal with, they do nothing but lie, every single time. Pure and utter jokers!
Best thing i ever did was leave orange when my phone contract ran out and went to Three.
Will never, EVER go back to orange for many reasons, let alone having broadband with them!

Errr, aren't you still on a contract with Orange? For around 16 years?
