I saw a Nexus7 in the Apple Store too ..... I went in and asked about it.
What did they say?
They said that as the Nexus7 is outselling all the iPads combined, they might as well sell it too. Thing is, they were trying to sell it at double the price of everyone else.
No change there then.......

Nope. Not as simple as that. It's actually a product I'm about to buy, but not from the Apple store, I need a version for Air these are for Snow.

I was going to change my answer to that. Thought there would never be a Nexus device in an Apple store. Then looked and had seen the goggles, but wasn't sure if it was anything to do with Android except being compatible with it.

Recon do two versions, one with and one without Android. I need the non Android version to run the flying specific software… bloody shame, thought the Apple store would be a sure bet for selling the non Android… but no! Must be a first and I found it.

The non Android ones are fantastic, they're not trying to be too fancy just showing numbers really. Has a barometer for my height and a GPS for ground speed and tracking. Few other tricks like Glide Ratio which is nice.

reviews i saw were saying they were inaccurate and not very easy to use, not talking about a specific product so might have got round the issues to be fair

Jack,
I was speaking to the Recon guys a couple of weeks ago about the various versions. E.g. They are just doing a version for skydivers/wingsuits/proxy fliers/speed fliers. Like you, I guess a vario would be useful so they are looking at that now, including audio.
But if you get the Android version, you could write your own software
Cheers
