Anyone got either of the above phones?
I am thinking of buying one or the other and just wondered if anyone has got any comments they would like to share about either phone good or bad.
Thanks.

I've got an SL45 - the BEST phone I've EVER had.![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Had virtually ALL the Nokias, some Motorolas and 1 Ercisson.
ALL are rubbish (IMHO)......
What network are you thinking of - got mine on Orange & got the SyncStation - the SL45 will sync itself to Microsoft Outlook (addresses, numbers, email addys etc)
The Multimedia card will store ANY files (I've bought a USB reader and run the card as an extra HD!) Also the MP3 player is really cool (make sure you get the stereo headphones)
Also, the dictaphone works as a stand-alone, OR you can record your phonecalls at ANY time during the conversation!
Brilliant phone! Buy one![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Edited to say "Get the new SL45i - it's got the latest JAVA/Internet jobby (tech speak![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

) or the S45 - pretty similar. Take a look at the Siemens website for more info"

I have an 8850 (2 band version of 8890) and the screen is pants I have had it replace at least 10 times in 2 yrs!!
Other than that it is a top phone but it is a little behind the newer phones like the t68 from Ericcson

Personally I would go for a Nokia 8310, not on your short list but definalty worth considering. I've had one for about 2 and a half months now, no problems and it has all the mod cons.
Top phone.

Forget them both - the 8890 is soon to be replaced, plus as mentioned, screen problems are a regular hazard of ownership (like its sister the 8850).The Siemens SL45 is an old model slghtly updated.
The best one at the mo is the Ericsson T68i (not the T68). Has far more features, is the bees-nees, and has superb colour screen. You can also get an add-on Communicam camera (one third of the size of the phone)to take pics and e-mail at different resolutions. Also is GPRS (on Vodafone, but not via Phones 4U shops), so Wap access is a lot cheaper and quicker. Or for the latest tri-band handset, the Nokia 6310i (updated 6310 handset) is excellent, but a slightly larger piece of handheld technology.
Still confused...![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

PS forgot to add,the T68i has Bluetooth technology. The Nokia 8310 is now becoming a potential liability with faulty software - sometimes it'll freeze up, and often in the Messages menu it could turn itself off. (speaking these comments from a professional point of view)
