Default Fuel bill rant.

Ok, I don`t have big bills as I live alone and I control what`s used. My gas fluctuates between winter and summer due to heating requirements but my electric is pretty constant and hardly changes. My last quarterly bill for electric was £120......this quarter, similar usage, is £242...wtf? I know prices have increased but this seems ridiculous to me. Gas went from £60 for last quarter to £109 which is quite a hike for my usage but nothing compared to the electric hike

It`s the electric I`m moaning about. I don`t use the heating much anyway. My last bill I`d used 802 units, this time 1605 My electric usage is always pretty constant / consistent but double the usage? I`d love to know what on.

Have you just come off a fixed rate etc or deal that's now finished and now on standard rate?

Detached house with wife who lives on Facebook ,leaves the telly and hifi on in every room then spends hours cooking and hoovering

My electric is exactly the same as you , my bill has doubled this quarter !

I am pretty shrewd with my usage , however my 15year old daughter offsets this greatly

It's ridiculous , I turned up our road , and I could see our house
Straight away , I'm not kidding , every light on , heating on
And guess what , no ones even in
I've moaned and shouted till I'm blue in the face , but all I get is I didn't leave em on
So I've now given up and said I'm not paying it
So the mrs and eldest daughter pays it and they still don't think about saving money ( even though its coming out their pockets )

I'm surprised you've not been dobbed in by the local helicopter police when they use that heat camera thingy. Your house must look like it's got a cannabis farm in the roof!

And the back door was wide open , kitchen door wide open , living room door ajar , walked in and mrs was sat there ( fire nice and hot )
I said why are all the doors open
Reply " don't know but I thought It felt cold that's why I've turned fire up "

What can you say to that , hence I give up

Omg
Think you need to put a lock on the heating system and make them wear headband torches and make them wear extra pair of socks and thermals and a coat and hat in the house and no tv for a month as punishment

No mate, I`m with Swalec. I`d never use NPower again, not even if they were the only suppliers...useless c**ts.

This time last year my fuel combined bill was £15 A DAY.
The wife fecked off, 3 of my 4 sons got their own places to live.
I moved from a big detached house to an apartment and I now have peace and quiet and a fuel bill of £1.50 a day.

Gas and electric winter usage per month is about £160 here and closer to £100 a month when the heatings off between April - October. That's a terrace with solid walls so not the most energy efficient house.

Recently moved to a new house and seem to have used most if the tank of oil I filled in November- £600 worth. Ouch. Roll on warmer weather so I can turn the damn heating off!
That doubling of the bill does seem rather odd.
