What I don't completely understand, is that there surely is no evidence other than "her word, against his" regardless of how many women have come forward, you need more than that to convict someone.

So the question is, if there is other evidence, why has it taken 20 odd years for this to be investigated?! Are the police on convict b-list celeb commission or something?!

I don't believe there can be any physical or corroborating evidence especially of the rape. Considering he is 83 I would be surprised if he can remember what he had for breakfast let alone what happened nearly 40 years ago.

I expect to see more arrests and attempted prosecutions.

Most rapes are one word against another, but they can't just bin them on that. You need to have some sort of evidence that disproves the victims account

Having seen him speak, he is fully in control of his faculties, not sure what to think as I like his TV persona, I dont know him but if he was into stuff like that, he should be made to face the music, however it was a long time ago, it seems like alternately a mawkish bandwagon and people feeling like they can now come forward.

Anecdotal evidence is not always discounted. So if jury hear from say 3 girls that they rushed into the room after the event and heard her screams and tale of rape it could sway a jury.

But as I said on another thread I don't think this should be dragged up after so long.

Hard luck, perhaps, on the victim I know.

Then they buy the celeb's story no matter if found guilty or innocent by law.

He's admitted all of it, sexual assault of girls as young as 9.

Despite some commenters above, I for one am glad he was chased and prosecuted; age and elapsed time should be irrelevant when it comes to prosecuting people like this.

It just said on the radio that the victim had no idea she had been abused. So, for all you "she is after a claim" nonsense, you need to step back and look at other angles. Personally I think its a huge peado ring, and this is the tip of the iceberg. This **** has admitted to the charges, age goes out of the window, as does time. He is guilty, and I hope they bring more of these vile ******* to justice too.

Really sad to see this on a personal level, back in the day I didn't like Saville and Glitter, but Stuart Hall was a great entertainer on Its a knockout and can remember laughing hysterically at some of those shows and his commentating

Also I just read some of the incidents "On another occasion in the 1970s he fondled the breast of a girl aged 16 or 17, the court was told." and "He also kissed a 13-year-old girl on the lips after he said to her: "People need to show thanks in other ways." The reaction seems over the top for that kind of thing.....
