For 3months, I have been trying to sort out late payment fees due to their inability to set up a direct debit correctly. Each time I ring, I get through to an foreigner and today I just lost it after half an hour of going round in circles with these idiots as I wasn't accepting the late payment fee. I complained that much that at the end I actually got speaking to a native English speaking non-script reader and within 5 minutes everything was sorted, calm was restored and because the person could actually speak and read English, she was able to pick up what was actually causing the problem with my DD payments within seconds.
Cheers Santander, another tenner wasted on my PAYG phone this month!

I did, apparently no one in Santander can do callbacks.....ever!
I did however get the number and direct extension to a hot sounding and extremely helpful lady. I can only assume she is infact a fat munter as hot women are never helpful.

It's worth every penny I spend for bring a HSBC advanced customer, every time I bang in my bank details I get straight through to an English based call centre, apparently. Had no issues so far. Plus you get all the extras such as holiday insurance etc!

They claim they do it to "save money" - WELL GIVE THE CUSTOMER BETTER PRICES THEN. It's basically to inflate profits for the companies and shareholders.
