Mother-of-11 gets custom built 'super-council house'
The family of an unemployed mother-of-11 is so large that the council is building a “mansion” for them.

What do you expect in a country with one of its core values is for its population to have kids and be paid for it by the government?
And it was all going to be so different under the Tories

Bit misleading really.
Housing is obviously being built as part of a new development, I don't believe its especially for this individual. They are just having to cater for large families.
And what could any government logically do? You can't cut benefits as that will put children into poverty which the government would be blamed for. You can't limit number of children born as you'll have dead babies found in skips. There is just nothing you can do expect pay for these people. If you pay these people to live fat dumb and happy they won't be so inclined to hop over the fence and steal your TV.

If you don't pay road tax and insure your car it get impounded and either crushed or sold at auction - don't see why we can't do the same with those who don't pay for their kids.
OK crushing might be a bit extreme perhaps but am sure there's a good market for 2nd hand kids or body parts. At least that way the "family" could feel that at long last it's contributing to the human race.

This is the problem with the uk, whilst most of us are working hard she's got her knickers off and working to get more child benefit and playing the system. I think it's disgusting and sends out the message of breed like rabbits and be a slag or lazy bar steward and we will give thousands in benefit and a house !

Totally see your point, but why then do we have to listen to Cameron (or whoever is in power) making false promises about the welfare state. It is not going to be cut as too many people realise being out of work and/or sprogging out another oxygen thief is a career choice and gets them more money!
Its a shocking state of affairs and no one really has the answer - or at least an answer we can all live with - other than put up with it and have the odd internet rant

I think thats why the media focus on disability. Much easier to make disabled people jump through lots of hoops and some will fail the new system and get put onto jobseekers. These people then become potential workers which probably puts them in some new bracket and the government can then legitimately say they are tackling the welfare problem.

p.s love the comments about a wizards sleeve, ruined fireplace and vandalised bus seat. Spat my coffee out at those comments.

My missus is from a family of 11 kids as well and they had a huge council house but not cause they were on benefits as they were not. Her dad worked but more as it was the norm to have a council house all those years ago. If they rent a home from the council surely they are entitled to a home big enough to house them. I'm sure there will still be kids sharing rooms as I doubt the council will give them that big of a house?

I'd like to see non-violent prisoners with trade skills used to build these houses to keep costs down.
