Default NEED help with EBay. Seller doesn't want to sell the item !!!

Hi Guys.
Today I've won the auction for brand new Sparco Monza steering wheel. I've won it for £46 plus £17.50 postage !!! Happy days, I thought. Well not exactly :-(
A minute after auction ended, I've received request of cancelling the transaction. Reason being that seller end the auction accidentally 4 minutes before end of time. I don't want to accept it as I know (I presume) the real reason. Simply he didn't want to sell the wheel worth nearly £200 for this much...

I didn't pay for it yet. Seller saying that he won't sell to me as he have the right to do it. This is what he said:
".... I won't be selling if to you regardless as the auction didn't go for the whole time I set it for, irrelevant of the reasons sellers have the right to amend the auction during the auction!"

Is there anything I can do ???

If the auction has run it's course you are in a legally binding contract, although it'd be a shock if you could enforce it - small claims court

Pay him and then chase him for the goods

You'll end up in a mire. He won't send you the goods, he will leave YOU negative feedback, it's not worth it.

No, your being told wrong on here

How can you cancel a transaction if he removed auction early, he wouldn't need to cancel it would automatically remove bidders IF he ended auction early, which clearly he didn't as to why he's asking to cancel transaction

A seller can't leave neg feedback anymore, only buyers can.
Looks like its ran it's course if you have a MSG to pay, just the seller is trying to make you agree to cancel transaction, pay for it and give it a few days and dispute it via eBay/PayPal either way you won't loose your money.
The seller has to send it, that's the term, he should of put a reserve on it if he wanted more for it, sellers problem not yours. eBay should deal with him if not willing to send.
Refuse the cancel transaction and tell him you want the goods that you won fare and square.

Just had a quick flick through the eBay forums and it pretty much says they will not get involved.

They will take action against the buyer, in the form of feedback, suspension etc but they will not physically make the buyer send the item.

You could go small claims court but I imagine the bill would be huge and therr are no guarantees that you would still get the goods.

Me, refuse the request to cancel, paypal the money, demand goods. If your goods dont arrive then ebay will side with you and refund the money and cancel any negative feedback he leaves you.

Also worth posting a link up to this moron so anyone doing research on this clown can find this thread.

Good luck fella

Would it be this guy here...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPARCO-Mon...item257ddb14d3

Who has relisted the wheel here...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sparco-Mon...item257df66a7e

Surefire evidence for the small claims court if he refuses to send it either that or report him as a conman, takes your money and relists without sending the good

Could the seller by any chance not know what he is doing? Ie he may be new to ebay and hasn't quite understood how it works and perhaps now realises he should have put a reserve on the item.

Well looking at the listing, it does seem the seller ended listing early, so you can't do owt.
Reason, item sold elsewhere etc, but yet it's up again
But what I don't understand is how he wants you to cancel transaction, eBay MSG saying pay, and you can leave feedback you shouldn't be able to do any of them if he ended early, wierd!

Maybe he did it at last second and caused a eBay crash

Probably, but IMO **** him,
Op if you have the options to pay then pay and demand goods and go via the dispute process to get him burned a bit and don't forget to leave neg feedback telling other potential buyers.

Yes, that is the auction I've won.
Will call eBay tomorrow and ask what they can do about it.

You right Busta, if he ended up the auction before time, it would automatically removed my bids which didn't so... I definitely won the item !!!
As I said above, I didn't pay for it yet so ATM I'm not losing anything. Was just wondering what chances do I have to get the goods I've won ?

I was bidding via mobile but set my maximum a couple of hours before end of auction.
He is telling me that he was using a mobile app and end auction by mistake 4 minutes early...

If ebay are telling you that you won it, just neg the guy and, unless you desperately want the wheel, leave it at that. He can't leave negative feedback for you, so don't worry about it.

from what I understand you can only end an item which cancels the bids within 12 hours (I think or 24), if you try and end an item after this time it warns you saying something like, if you end the auction early the current highest bidder will win the auction, do you want to proceed...
I think this is what hes done. As for getting help from ebay, I find the best way to get help from them is to use the chat window instead of emails or calling, although I doubt you will get anywhere with this one im afraid, but good luck mate

Had a bloke do this on an item I was bidding on. He ended it early and relisted it with a higher starting price.
Ebay were not interested and said it's within the rules.

Another listed £25 P&P, but was four miles from me. he insisted i'd have to pay the P&P if I picked up for cash, ebay agreed with him

The place is crackers.

I won 2 vintage RC cars for £220. The seller refused to sell them to me as he said they were worth more (I would have agreed but thats not the point). Nothing I could do but neg him and move on.

Puts them up again. I put £240 and I won them, we made friends and I received the cars. First auction was November and I got the cars a few days before Christmas. All for an extra £20. Fool.

Really?

I think your second comment sums it up. Ebay as far as I see it is a means by which sellers are put in contact with buyers and a mechanism is provided to agree a price. I wouldn't see it as an auction not matter what is written on the site in the T&C's.
