Question CD Playlist Mystery?

I have been trying to tidy up my CDs and came across an old Roy Buchanan CD so popped it into the PC and enjoyed the tracks.

The odd thing was that the playlist which popped up on the right hand side on the screen bore no relation whatsoever to the actual songs on the disc.

This looks like a genuine CD so what is going on?

Cheers. Just given them a buzz and they are treating it as an emergency so they should be here early August. Could well feature on Crimewatch

The data that programs such as Windows media player uses to provide titles for CDs comes from databases that rely on Joe Public to populate them. They're not always correct. I'm also not sure how the CD is identified to look it up in the database. I'd assume each one had some sort of unique ID code as part of it's data but I guess there may be odd CDs that have duplicate IDs.

I've slowly been converting my CD collection into Flac format (like MP3 but with no loss of quality) and you do get the odd one where the tracklisting doesn't make sense.
