Radio 4.......what a load of $hyte.........
Long car journey today, so tried a few radio stations. Radio 1 pretty decent, Matt Edmonson who i like. Radio 2, so-so. Then radio 4. OMG, what a load of tripe. It was weekend womans hour. Topics for discussion, nude moddeling for retired women then the history of the suffragettes.
Who listens to this crap.................seriously...(sigh)

How anyone can say radio 1 is "pretty decent" is beyond me. Well, unless you have the mental age of 10 or you find people like Nick Grimshaw Fearn Cotton interesting to listen to.
Personally, the only thing I listen to on the radio nowadays is LBC (97.3). Voted best UK radio station this year. Top station!

Most decent comedy started on radio 4
The original 6 episodes of "Knowing me Knowing you" with Alan Partridge are simply stunning - and that is the tip of a very large iceberg

I find Radio 4 very informative and interesting, some of the plays are brilliant, it's the only station I listen to when in the UK, have done so for years since my early twenties, Radio 1 is for brain dead retards / followers of fashion and sun readers of course, nothing but shyte for 25yrs or more.

Radio 4 can be very good. However I also enjoy LBC with Nick Ferrari and James O'Brien. On Saturdays they have a double combo of Ken Livingstone and David Mellor which can be very good.

I have Radio 4 on all the time in my car. Most stuff is quite stimulating, but some plays and discussions can be appalling. That includes the plays that exaggerate the emotion old style; some discussions with 'so yesterday's' sho!te. In such discussions, women are talking in manly voice to show their intellectual superiority, and men are going on and on like they have always been muted back home- in an imposing fashion. On occasions like that, I have to just turn the radio off, and listen to no other station, as none of them would provide anything better than R4, even when it can be terribly disappointing sometimes.
Daughter dear buttoned in Radio 2 lately from the passenger seat. It did play some sonorous tunes, to be fair.
R4 needs to up its game in terms of its monotone, start walking with time, and provide stuff with variety, that's all. It still is the best radio station IMO.

R4 is by far and away the best Beeb channel.
Superb news coverage (mostly) and some excellent comedy. But if you feel R1 is for you then stay ignorant of what's going on in the world.
I sometimes switch over to R5L for light relief and sports news.

I'm not the only one then.
Similar with tv, I use to avoid itv becuase thought it was frivolous nonsense, but iv come to realise just what a propaganda machine the BBC is

I listen to local radio on the way to work to catch up on local news etc. On my way home or if travelling during the day it has to be radio 4. Some great discussion and debate covering generally interesting and relevant content from well informed points of view. I'm 39 BTW - so probably fit their typical audience demographic.

I don't bother with the radio in the car. My drive to work takes me to the depths of hell where only Downtown Radio seems to be available and it's probably the worst radio station ever created.
I listen to Absolute Rock/80's in the house.

As for newspapers, daily mail is so right wing. Independent it is then.

Hm. Sky is better, but it's also full of googaa these days. The kind of people they pick to do the late night Press Preview is disgraceful! Last night, they had two very forgettable no-gos sitting there and giving it large on negligible issues. That Royal Baby pallavah was another thing that just went too OTT on SKY.
