Do you hvae to be looking out over the sea, in order to be able to see it? Because I've just watched the sun set from the top of the hill near the French house and am sure I saw it.

Don't think you have to be at sea, just wide flat landscape and the right atmospherics ,

..and the right cocktail of beverages

Thought we'd seen it several times when sailed cross atlantic, had about 3 days no wind at all and good should been ideal

Only green flash I've ever seen were my old Dunlops.

You'll see a green flash if you drink the stuff mentioned here, plenty more as well methinks.

It certainly is better over the sea. I used to see it regularly from Ascension Island. If you used binoculars you could see the other colours in the spectrum as well, it is just that the green was predominate.

Went on a "sunset cruise" in Antigua (honeymoon) to see this , a hazy horizon and waaaay too much rum punch meant I seen frig all !
