Default Poor little lad

At least he is at peace now. RIP Daniel..

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-23522848

As so often seems to happen many agencies were aware of problems but were deceived by the couple. Do they expect honest answers FFS.

I just cannot understand how anyone in this country can do this to a child. It really does upset me.

Heard it on the radio. How some one can harm another person let alone a child is beyond me, they want locking away for life and allowing the prison system to do they same back to them. Utter scum

The radio said how they beat him, then left him locked in the dark starving till he died.

If love to be left alone with these cowards and I'm not I violent man but this takes the ****.

The government don't know their head from their ****.

I've just watched the news about this and to be honest there is not much that affects me, but this has! It is just so utterly cruel! They really do not deserve to live another moment!

The other thing is that once again we are now told all the signs were there, but the teachers and social workers did nothing. As usual there is to be an investiagtion at the end of which the government will tell us lessons have been learned!

Well clearly they are not being learned and I for one am sick of case after case like this and yet absolutely nothing changes! The whole thing needs a radical shake up and people need to start being accountable for the performance of these departments right up to the minsiters responsible for them! We can start with the teachers and social workers in this case!!!!

It needs action not another f**king report where the government can make the right noises and then two days later brush it all under the carpet for it to happen again and again!

I don't understand why everyone is so surprised. Surely my stint in the police didn't make me expect this behaviour, or are the public just sheltered from it?

I totally agree, but on the other hand things like this deserve that course of action IMO, willing to harm and take another's life, then get to live out their days under the justice system, no doubt it will be a rough ride, and if they were more than likely to meet an unhappy ending whilst servin their sentence then even better, why should us the tax payer have to pay for scum like this to be sat in a prison where they are more than likely going to stay if considered a high risk so no chance of parol, just sucks more money from us decent folk, they say we are over crowded and are in debt, well there's a feckin start

By no means am I a violent person and I actuall work in care, which is why things like this really grip my shít after the work I do and see others around me do, for scum sucking wastless excuse of a life form to carry out acts like this, would you really want to see them interacting and integrated back in to society again, because I wouldn't

Just my view

Tragic story - but I still have to question what the **** the teachers\school were thinking...! It must have been obvious something was badly wrong irrespective of 'he had a rare eating disorder' excuse...

They were not doing enough as is so often the case and they can do that because tomorrow they will all still have a job. Like so many public sector jobs they are 'untouchable' no matter how many times they f**k up!

My best mate has just joined the force and some of the things he's had to witness and do reports on is genuinely harrowing. Stuff worse that this story that doesn't even make the news somehow. I see now why you left, John.

What a terrible story this is. I have to admit unashamedly that it brought tears to my eyes when I heard what had happened to that poor lad.

The two murderous tykes who were responsible deserve the most unpleasant sentence possible. Capital punishment would not be too much in my opinion. He had to endure wholesale torture for his whole life before they killed him.

The other question of course is what on earth were those responsible for child welfare thinking? How could they see the effects of his mistreatment and malnourishment and turn a blind eye. They can't have failed to realise that everything was wrong in the way he was treated at home. How could they see a child wasting away to 1.5 stone at his age and raiding dustbins for food as well as his dreadful appearance and not know that he was being mistreated? They should all be sacked from their jobs and even punished for their total lack of concern for the lad's welfare.

I wonder if they even feel ashamed! Or are they too busy thinking up excuses?

At least the sentences handed down today (30 years minimum before consideration for parole, each, in case you've missed it) are a bit more like it compared to some.

I hope their pictures get round all the prisons so wherever they end up they will suffer at the hands of other prisoners. I hope they torture the living daylights out of them daily for the next 30 years but even that doesn't go far enough for what they did to that helpless little boy.

I'm another in the camp who feels this is another example of where capital punishment is suitable. As that isn't available they should have been given full life terms, not 30 years. There is no justification to ever release them after what they have done

I sit here with my youngest grand child who I love and carefore dearly but I am completely speechless at how callous, sick, uncaring and ruthless these so called humans are. I hope they rot!

I remember years ago when we had our children, we gave up loads for them, ate soup so they had proper food, we never went out drinking until we could afford it, wore clothes longer so they had newer better stuff and holidays where just dreams.

What in gods name are these people doing even having children.

I doubt they'll ever be released, and quite rightly so.

The minimum sentence for what they did is 15 years, so that's what I meant when I said 30 is more like it, albeit still not long enough.

Now, let's await the 'we need to understand them' regulars to explain why we're misguided.

I think I heard that they have got a minimum of 30 years each.

That makes me feel a bit better.

I was sat in work eating my lunch listening to the news .. it's rare I pay attention in work.. (in general) but this had me almost in tears. I'm no hero but I don't tend to cry, but my lad is 4 and I just can't grasp how they did this. He would have blamed himself.. I can't think about this again.

They did get 30 Les .. 30 years of us paying for them to be protected ..
