Koppaberg Cider
Anyone drink it ?
Im just back from Ibiza and while there guy gave me what he had left before he went home. I havent even sniffed cider since I drank it as a teen (too many bad memories) so the wife drank some. I had nothing else so had a taste . . . .its beaut ! Always liked the idea of a pint of cider with ice on a warm day , but couldn't like the taste.
This stuff is like Shloer (spelling ?) and had the potential to turn me alcoholic until I got home . . . . .its not the same back home !
The apple has a more cider taste , the Wild Berry flavour which in Ibiza was clear is called Mixed Fruits and is pink and tastes like fizzy blackcurrant. Had two pints lastnight and 1 bottle of Coors Light and woke up with a headache. Also assumed it was expensive as I was on holiday but its not cheap at home ethier.
Guess its back to lager

I hear that White Lightening is recognised as a chav drink now, embarrassingly I got p!ssed on that once. That was in 1995, and I don't think it was associated with chavs, then. So, basically, I was so sick after it that my friend thought I was gonna die. I survived, but never again any cider tempted me. I remain traumatised.
We once bought some freshly squeezed cider in Weston Super mare from some farm. It was sold in the cans like colourless petrol cans. I never touched that, but apparently it was judged as nice to the appreciators of alcoholic drinks.

I think the last cider I drank was on a family holiday in Zummerzet.
My dad went out and bought two plastic 5 litre containers of scrumpy - one cloudy and dry, and one clear and sweet.
I was about 10 years old.

Have to admit I do love kopperberg....
However if you like Kopperberg then make sure you try Rekordelig. Most supermarkets sell it. Highly recommend the strawberry and lime one. Just like cherryade

Oh, right. Will try a whole bottle one day. Not Cherry flavoured one, though. Any drink in cherry flavour tastes like Calpol that I'm not so keen on. I'll try pear flavour.

As a Devon boy unless it's from the Westcountry (West Midlands or East Anglia at a push) it's not really proper cider. All this mass produced 'white' cider and guff from Sweden is nonsense. The good gear's right on your doorstep.

There's plenty of good ciders around at the moment as it's making a comeback. I travel 'up south' to visit the Cornish Cider farm near(ish) Newquay. They used to make Rattler Cider, but it's now so popular that they have to farm it out! Their own cider though is great, especially the ones matured in oak barrels, some with whiskey or rum mmmmmmmmmm

You need to try Rekorderlig
Winter special is nice - lots of vanilla, sweet
Toffee apple is very nice, but only if you have a sweet tooth
I bought some of that mom & pop stuff from the west country when on holiday once,
2 LTR keg type thing, with a hand written label
One glass annd my lips and face went numb!!!!
tasted good though
