right, tell me how rock bottom you are to declare yourself bankrupt, what implications does this have?

these ppl seem to do it all the time... Duncan James went last month... Kerry Coketonna is now on about her third bankruptcy... but still seems to be living a 'flash' life style.

How do they manage it?

these celebs seem to come back and it doesn't seem to effect them.



i thought if you are bankrucy you can't get a loan/mortgage.. no credit card or cheque book or bank account. the question gets asked if you apply for car insurance.. etc

am i correct.

I bet it has nothing to do with a new album and tour, good way to clear debts and your back to semi normal within 12 months typically.

My sister in law did it, moved in with a fella, got a load on the never, never and then declared bankruptcy.

They take everything they can off you, although if you change things like cars into other peoples names, you can hide away. (that's not a tip).

The way I look at it, you have two types of people, people trying to make money, things go wrong, dream fails and then you have the people who just borrow without a care in the world. These in my opinion are the ones hurting the system and making things more expensive for the rest of us.

 

The worst culprits are the ones sucking up this kind of media to start with

Celebs don't go bankrupt quite like you and I.

 

the main loser will be the UK taxpayer

because the major creditor will be you and me via the HMRC

they are in effect benefit cheats, but at least aspirationals ones i suppose

as the benefits seem pretty good

Fella out of Westlife invested heavily in property and went bankrupt recently, £18m or so.

how do they do it?

 

Quite easily it seems.

 

The nature of showbusiness has a lot to do with it.

1. Self employed so need to put money aside for tax bill.
2. Irregular earnings so need to put money aside for "lean" times.

They do neither=shafted=bankrupt.

 

What was it that pop-tastic pretty boy trio Bros once said when they too went bankrupt - 'no-one told us the difference between net and gross...'

 

They make "financial" comebacks because they are quite good at generating cash

And they do not have the fiscal drag of debt repayments
