Christmas Number One
I came across this today:
"In November 1973, Malcolm & Angus Young formed a band...now 40 years later they are still going and just as loud. They have NEVER had a UK Top 10 single let alone a No.1
X Factor have announced that after a 2 year gap they are to release their single in Christmas week... so can AC/DC beat them to it?"
Surely "Mistress for Christmas" would have been a better choice for the campaign?

Given that 'pop' is a contraction of popular, and AC/DC are one of the biggest selling live acts in history, despite an almost total absence of radio airplay, I would beg to differ

The same can be said of Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath, purple etc.
Popular music is what the kids listen to and it's what your mum sings to when she's peeling the spuds.

**** me dude, chill out!
I was just having a play on words, not redefining music genres
Your last line muddies the waters further though, since both kids and the wife are properly educated musically

Listen mate, I've been into AC/DC since Bon Scott and I can tell you now regardless of how many records they have sold or stadiums they have sold out around the world it is NOT popular music.

Between 1974 and 1977, aided by regular appearances on Molly Meldrum's Countdown, the ABC's nationally broadcast pop-music television show, AC/DC became one of the most popular and successful acts in Australia. Their performance on 3 April 1977 was their last live TV appearance for more than 20 years
