Default Nick Clegg - total maggot

You kind of expect the traditional 3 parties to be full of idiots, lying and spinning to try to convince people to vote for them. But today I have seen it all.

Nick Clegg claims that wanting to leave the EU and manage our own affairs is "unpatriotic" and a "betrayal of the National interest". Therefore giving powers away to Brussels is patriotic? Talk about Orwellian doublespeak! What a shame those treason laws were watered down/abolished because that sounds like a contender for prosecution....

Clegg is an irrelevance, he and his party will slide back into the wilderness soon enough as who is going to vote for a man who U-turns on every key policy of his party's manifesto just so he can be deputy PM?

His comments on Europe are laughable, but are a good illustration of how desperate he and his coalition chums are stating to become over this issue.

Now, no doubt Martin will be along any minute to defend him LOL!

Yet another politician that hasn't got a clue about life in the real world. How can we produce such inept ******* for politicians nowadays?

Saying its unpatriotic is just daft. I'm not so sure on the comment on the public interest though, think he may have a point there.

He didn't cut them.
And what he did was patently wrong....he lied to the student voters of his Hallam constituency, just as he lied to the people employed at Forgemasters.

He has spent his political career promising the moon, yet knowing he would never have to deliver.

Now he's in power, he's been found out, big-time!

I can hardly wait for him to have his "Portillo moment".

Is this the same one where said small country did go it alone in the past and succeeded, very much?

The EU has nothing to offer us we can't get ourselfs. infact we would be alot better away from it full stop before it drags us down to the likes of some of those other ex eastern block countries, oh hold on......

You might think the EU utopia smells of Roses but to the rest of us it stinks of ****.

By that logic 200 countries outside the EU are all failing then are they? And in what way are we small? Singapore is small, Hong Kong is small, Taiwan is small, Monaco is small. Are they failing ? Or do you mean by population ? Like Australia and Canada ? Maybe they are failing by being outside the EU? We're the worlds sixth largest economy so we are not small, unlike your thinking skills!

I like your thinking warren.
BTW: you seen how difficult it is to emigrate to any of those places, recently?

Or to buy property in Monaco? In Singapore? If you aren't a resident.

They would appear to be doing something right, anyway?

Only to those of the population who see the in/out argument as being centred around immigration.

Nobody has mentioned immigration in this thread so far apart from you.

I don't want or even agree with the EU policies on most things TBH.

My apologies, the comment was made on a sweeping assumption that the majority of anti-EU arguments centre around 'dey took ur jurbs'. Thus missing the point that there are far greater ramifications to the in/out argument than simply closing the doors to all.

There's nothing easier than closing a few doors, the other EU member states do it, in fact they interpret EU legislation to suit themselves.

That's something any UK government seems incapable of, but even a 'racist bigot' like me realises there should be an open door policy for skilled EU nationals only, the rest should jog on.

As always, just follow the money they can make. The European Parliament is an even bigger gravy train than Westminster & you never hear of anyone being questioned about their expenses.

The bigger question would be what fools keep voting for them.
