Anyone else working Xmas?
Let's have a roll call for all highly committed strivers working indefatigably over the Xmas holidays.
I'm in West Africa ATM, just got over my last bad stomach, the rig is filthy with roaches everywhere. Went to get a croissant to eat at breakfast yesterday, saw a roach running all over them, ugh! You don't want to to know what lurks in the jam.

They phoned me yesterday with a check in for tomorrow, told them to **** off my two weeks at home isn't up till Wednesday. I expect they will try again tomorrow with a check in for Monday which I could live with I suppose. I don't want to **** them off too much or it will be the P45 for me again lol

sometimes we go away for xmas (every other year), but when we stay at home, i work all the days
I am lucky though - I work from home (mostly) and my industry pretty much slows to a halt anyway, so I would much rather have a day in June - than a cold wet day in December, when in reality no work is going to be done
so I will be carrying over 4 days (which should give me 33 days next year!!)
the risk is always that some urgent peice of work needs doing for submission on the 6th Jan, but it is a risk worth taking imo (and I can always spoof them and tell them I am on holiday anyway)

Shift week starts tomorrow at 7am, Christmas eve is 9pm til 7am, Christmas day is 11pm til 7am, then 5 days off, would've had the 31st off but the Chief Supt wants "full resilience to ensure community cohesion"
Those were his actually words too, the pompous ****
Oh well, Merry Christmas S'netters
