Cameron - a real test
OK, David Cameron has proposed a migrant cap on the Bulgaria and Romania, a policy I have no issue with btw!
However Vince Cable says it will not happen;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-25484456
Bulgaria say they will take the UK to court if it happens.
The EU says it will not happen!
If Cameron stands his ground then I will be the first to say good on him.
The question is will he given the coalition is genuinely split on this and there is little history of the UK standing up to the EU for any length of time over an issue!

I guess Cameron has done it in a (odd) way to appeal to the mass UK public, that as the leader of the ruling party, he understands the needs of the country, but is secretly glad that Vince Cable has said no to it. Add in the fact that Bulgaria says will take the UK to court if they do, add to the fact that Cameron can come out with "I decided to drop this for the good of the UK and to ensure the ongoing relationship with the EU". Or something along those lines.
Does it make him look good, no it makes him look like an whiny child in my eyes, either keep your mouth shut or do something about it, like grow some ***** and stand up to the EU - if your think its best to stay in the EU, or start playing the same game every other country does in the EU.

For all her faults Maggie would have been the correct person to deal with these EU parasites.

Reading about the Bulgarian Presidents comment today and I'm thinking, well he would say that because he's banking on a big pay day which will prop up his country financially when the parasites get access to our benefit system. Even if they manage to get paid work the money will get sent back to Bulgaria.
The guys got both front feet in the trough at the thought of 2014.

That said I have just seen an interesting statistic on Sky News which if true (given it's the British media who knows) is quite poignant.
EU migrants pay 34% more in tax in the UK than they take out via benefits etc.
Non EU migrants pay 2% more tax in he Uk than they take out in benefits etc.
Whereas your homegrown mob take 11% more out in benefits than they pay in in taxes!

Not one immigrant I know is on benefits. Why would they. They are young and educated and want to work. Why go to another country to do nothing. It's a completely stupid debate.
Lots of my relatives and friends work in other EU countries as well.
Answer. One level of benefits Europe wide.
A cap won't work, and also Cameron is a liar. He says one thing and does another. My neice is a nurse, they have just recruited a load of nurses from Spain.
The truth is, for years we have failed to train a decent workforce, now the price is having to import skilled labour. We need immigrants.

The big winners are the Eastern European countries as we are paying for their existence like a cash cow or a golden goose.

Nhs training places are slashed, then we recruit nurses from Spain to cover the shortage.
The total hypocrisy of politicians.
Train a UK nurse 70k
Import one free.
That is the world today. I don't agree with it btw.

min wage earner pays about £140 a month in tax. but 3 kids back home in poland to claim cb for = about £180 every 4 weeks could you explain just how that benefit's the uk, while you are at it a explanation on tax ie going home for a set period of time in order to reclaim all tax paid would be good, the only people who gain from this infestation of cheep labour, are companies and factory owners who employ them for peanuts, i know of one local to me that has 9 large houses all shared, and rented out to his workforce, for £60 each per person, so not only does he get cheep labour, but also houses paid for by the great british tax payer,

Just to reiterate the figures on the news earlier:
EU migrants pay 34% more in tax in the UK than they take out via benefits etc.
Any child benefit etc. is included here!

Oh not the bloody trade argument again. Trade will be no different whether we are in or out of the EU! Business gives not a **** about politics in the cold light of day despite what one or two business people might say in public! Please stop peddling this government lie!

They are pissed of with us
Any cars from the uk now have to have a safety check done to be sold in the EU
Those checks cost £1000 and there is a 6 month backlog
Chinese car maker thinks about which country to build a new car plant.......guess what, they decide against the uk.

Government lie? Seriously? Did you not see how stroppy the EU got when we vetoed the reworking of the Lisbon treaty?

I've been saying the same on here for a long time, but get heckled by Brit hating bigots who would rather import skilled labour from the EU rather than train our own young people.

Ok, in the spirit of Christmas lets see if we can have a debate without slinging insults
I've asked this question many times on here but nobody has even attempted to answer it. Let's say that the stats you've quoted are correct ie EU migrants contribute 34% more in tax than they take out in benefits.
I'm assuming 'benefits' means welfare? If so then how about what is taken out by them in terms healthcare and schooling? On the whole the EU migrants are a young demographic and so healthcare will mean maternity services and these don't come cheap.
I've read a figure (I don't know if it's accurate) that it costs about £10k per year to educate a child. So if you had a nice hardworking EU migrant couple with two children it would cost £20k per year just to put their kids through school.
Are they likely to contribute MORE than £20k per year in tax?
I don't know the answer btw, I'm asking the question.

To be honest even the lefty in me doesn't trust those figures in my earlier post on here anyway ! I've been trying to find a breakdown or a source, but you know what the media are like LOL! As you say it would be interesting to know what constitutes 'benefits' in their calculations. As you suspect I too suspect it doesn't include healthcare or schooling and after that the picture becomes a lot more blurred!
To be honest I doubt it's something we can ever get a proper answer to!
