Holidays
While it's bleak, wet and cold, has anyone booked a holiday yet?
A little while off but we booked another month (all of August; house will be occupied...!) in Europe last night. No idea where we are going yet but it starts and finishes in Santander again then we will camper it. It won't be the same as last year; hotter but much busier - so we will try and avoid the major hot spots for hordes of holidaymakers.
Maybe Portugal, definitely France and Spain. Will need to book campsites this time too so less flexible; the joys having a kid at school now!
But can't wait anyway; I can't even imagine being warm at the moment!

Just booked a large family (12 people) holiday to Spain, going in May. From memory we leave about a week after I return from the boys holiday in Magaluf..
Pretty close to booking a week in Cyprus in August, the wifes currently looking at accomodation.
Hopefully we'll get to spend a week or two in Croatia later on in the year also. (staying with family)

Not made any plans yet but need to give it some serious consideration so I at least have something to look forward to
Fortunately neither of the kids are at school yet so it will be outside of term time. Probably have a couple of weeks somewhere in September like usual, might even consider flying somewhere with the kids this year. Aside from that probably a couple of week long breaks maybe Easter and early summer but would stay somewhere in the UK.
If I had the money I'd like a nice camper van, probably a VW T5 conversion of some sort but a California is a bit out of my range (before Mattee suggests it ) Maybe in the next few years, would be good for once the kids are at school. Thought about a caravan but the missus is averse to it, we do camping already but it's not so easy with two little 'uns.

I'm not that fussed about hot weather and hate 'beach' type hols where people just lay about sunbathing and drinking. It will be Scotland so I can climb Ben Nevis, and several trips to the Lakes to tick off some Wainwright's. Not everyone's cup of tea I know but we did heaps of travelling for years and years and I've seen most of the places I wanted to, plus love not having the hassle of flights etc.
Give it another five years or so and I'll probably have the itch again but for now just enjoying some of the beautiful (and under-rated) UK

Yes, can't wait to get away! We are going in Easter.
Dubai for two nights. Hate the place but wanted to break up the journey and the kids will like the water parks
Maldives for eleven nights. Hopefully lots of snorkeling with the kids
Sri Lanka for four nights and then back home

Booking my flights tonight, 16 days of Marbella sun courtesy of parents place over there
We were also planning a school half term break over there in May but flights are extortionate, £1700 for two adults and two kids, August flights a snip at £900.

Amsterdam in Feb, Teneriffe with the lads in March, Lanzarote in April and LA, San Fran and San Diego in July/August for the wife's 40th birthday.
Unusually for me I'm pretty well organised this year.

Nothing booked yet, but we'll be doing at least a week in the sun, Camp Bestival, and possibly a week in Devon again.
Have plans for a big house revamp/extension this year so can't have too many holidays (and no car buying for 12 months. Bugger).

None planned at the moment. I don't even want to think about it. Just had a good rest and fun at home during Christmas holidays and don't need the stress of planning a holiday, packing a suitcase to go away for fun so soon. New year has just begun, I'd rather get stuck back in work, and would think of booking something when I'm half exhausted again.
What I do always think about is visiting India again. That's a visit to my India family, not a holiday.
