We have some fantastic roads over rivington \ darwen \ bolton \ haslingden etc, anyone fancy a driveout one evening or sat\sun am? If we do a weekend day we had better do it early as it can get busy.

Rivington's not far from me.. only driving a Sport tho, with lovely 1 Pot calipers that couldn't stop a bike
I'm allways up for a run out though .. anything that keeps me out of the house

I'm thinking short but sweet, maybe about 30miles max, a route we can do in an evening whenever a couple of us fancy a (sensible) drive out, then it doesn't have to be a one off.
Shall I start putting a route together?
What does everyone favour, I prefer twisty country lanes (can have fun at sensible speeds) with a few A roads thrown in, but I'm open to opinion.

Sounds good to me
Back again C, have they renewed your visa?
Spose I could follow you round. I have a rope in the boot so we can be sure to get your old heap home.

great, gives me an excuse to go out this weekend and sort a route then
If anyone fancies a recce run over the weekend, drop me a mail at ian_cooke@yahoo.com with your moby number. This will *not* be a blast out (much ) but a slow run to work out a route.
Ian.

Right, sorted a nice little route at the the weekend, cheers to Jim for coming along, we had a nice drive but for a few sunday drivers.
Will type up the notes tonight, then we are ready to roll.
It's a twisty undulating route, about 40miles, will take about an hour, and starts not far from the Reebok Stadium west of Bolton.
So, who's free and when, name an evening.

Shall we make it a Thursday night thing then?
Stu, don't worry, I hope we'll do it next week as well
We'll meet around 7:30, drop your email address here and I'll mail you all a meeting point.
(please note this "Introduction to the scenic parts of Lancashire" tour is in no way organised by or affiliated with the SIDC, it's just a group of nature loving peeps that want to enjoy the beautiful countryside we have around these parts )

Well maybe not in a straight line but the estate is very very easy to play beyond the limits of grip, very neutral weight distribution, but you can't concentrate on balance when your eldest daughter (3yrs) is shouting "dad, no running!" and your youngest (9months) is giggling uncontrollably!
