Festive greeting Fellow Cumbrians (yes I know I am in Lancaster at the moment but my heart will always be in The Lakes
)
Following on from suggestions to develop our own area on the Internet, I have made the first bold move towards our on home from home a la Tyne Tees Scoobs with the registration of www.cumbrianscoobs.co.uk
This is in no way an abandonment of Scoobynet as this is far too valuable a resource to give up (esp. the Muppets forum
) and my skills as far as BBS's go are wanting to say the least ![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
The idea is to have on this website what ever we want with regards to Subarus (not just the Impreza) in Cumbria - as it is for us about us, I hereby call on you for your input, be that suggestions of what you want to see up to contributions of photo's and articles such as the infamous "readers cars" section![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
An example of an idea I am currently working on is personal email addresses such as LordHarding@CumbrianScoobs.co.uk (probably as a mail forward to your existing email addresses)
So, put your ideas forward and let's make it a good 'un
Jon![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Ps. Launch date will probably be January 1st 2003 so no emails about the site not being up yet

Excellent suggestion - anyone got experience of getting sponsorship money from companies? - should be able to knock up some banner ads (though most folk will only part with cash based on proof of numbers of visitors...)

Great to see you having your own website. It can become a bit addictive after a while.
When it is up and running, would you mind if I put a link from the Tyne Tees Scoobies website to yours.
We found that suppliers were more than welcome to 'cough up' a discount for members (Mostly 10%) in return for a link to there websites. Some will even put together 'Specials' for members only.
We are just going through the process of making membership cards as some people were using our name to obtain discount without even attending our meetings.
I am sure that the suppliers on www.tyneteesscoobies.com will be more than happy to extend their offers to you guys over the other side of the country.
Just had our Logo designed by one of the members. Looks Cool.
Email me as per profile if you wish to swap ideas.
Cheers and a Merry Christmas to you all.

Merry Christmas Martin and thanks for your support ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Reciprical links are always good where search engines are concerned so already got them pencilled into the design![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I have to admit my whole web design skills are based on copying code from other sites then modifying it to get what I want but hey, it's all open source![Cool](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)
Cheers, Jon
