Northern Tyres Recommendation
#1
Needed two new tyres for the Merc so rang round the usual suspects (Kwik Fit/National/Dealership/etc) looking for the OEM Dunlops and prices ranged from £160 to £230 PER TYRE granted they are sizeable at 275/55/17, but even so!
Then rang an old pal at Pemberton Tyres in Wigan - £100.54 fully inclusive. Same tyres, Same service, Same availability!
So be warned, despite touting 'January Sales - prices that can't be beaten' the national tyre outlets are seeking to make upto 150% mark-up
Moral of the story, go to the small independant tyre outlets (or even better for us Northerners, ring Alan at Pemberton Tyres - 01942 222413)

Yeah, always use an independant. I use a guy near work (in Stoke-On-Trent). I just got 4 Goodyear F1 GSD3 205/50/16 for £360 all in, compared to about £600 by the big boys. Even mytyres.co.uk couldn't match that price (and thats before delivery/fitting/balancing)
