Any Cheshire / S. Mancs scoobs for a meet on the 25th?
#1
A few of us are planning to get together for a run up into the Peak District on the above date. I will be coming from Sandbach, so could meet up at Jct 17 if anyone is interested. Meeting the others in Leek.
I guess we will be stopping off at the Cat & Fiddle at about 9.00 - 9.30ish.
Post up if any interest.

What's the route? J17 is fine for me (just down the road), but since I live in Middlewich you may (or may not) be coming my way anyway?
We could meet up with CW42 et al half way (Macc again?) and all go over the top together.
Anyway, I just need place/time.....
Cheers,
Steel
ps: got tyre fixed.

Chris: Got tyre fixed (£10). Also lost my wheel cap (dunno how I managed that, maybe still on the carpark floor) so had to buy another one from Subaru (£16 - robbing b*******). Got a decent wheel brace while I was out (£14) and also some better sunglasses (£35).
So, £75 I think. But since I went to the Scooby garage, I checked out an STi with PPP. Bloody August/September delivery.....and 27K!
So all in all, an expensive puncture ;-)
oh and better half has already poo pooed the Sti for now, so maybe a PPP for the silver one maybe an option.....dunno. Looking at options for that now.
Anyway, great day out! Saw and learnt loads and even the kids enjoyed it. Little wrong turn on the way back and everyone followed was funny - LOL
Just left a message for Carl (top bloke who lent me the wheel) and will be arranging to take it back this week. He lives in Rhyl (nice excuse for a blast), but we talked about meeting somewhere, so Demon Tweeks at Wrexham may be an option if anyone fancies the same (nice roads to DT ).
Whoops!: Thread Hijack ALERT! - sorry

ps: Thanks again Carl if you read this. TOP FELLA!!!!

Steel – this punctures only gonna get more expensive for you if we meet at Demons!!! .....I’m sure we wont be able to keep out of the shop!!
Thanks for the kind words. Like I said, I was in a similar situation to yourself with my previous Scooby a few years ago and had to drive half way across the country on the god awful space saver – never again – hence the full size spare in the boot now.
Glad to be of help – see you soon mate.
Carl

andy, you would be better off staying in whaley and meeting us there, say at the speed bump by the school.
we will probably go past there on the way to macc, I think we did that route last time, over macc old road.
I will have to get a list together now, give me a minute!
chris.

I have a list, the like of which you have never seen before. This makes people travelling from scotland for the nbo seem like a sunday drive out!
We have Liverpool and the wirral, mid cheshire, and derbyshire represented on this evenings drive out.
Here goes:
cw42
scoobygav555
turbo toe
andy s. all from the stockport area.
goober
steelx from sandbach/northwich
johnwrx
andy_razz from liverpool/wirral
So, what format do you guys want? A straight drive out and about? Or maybe like the last meet with steelx, beefy and pitchblack, a drive to a nice pub in the country, a couple of cokes, and then a blast back?
Time is the factor for me, as I cant be out after 10:30. I have to be up for work at 4:40 the next day, and will have been up since the same time that day!
I fancy picking a nice country pub myself, say somewhere in derbyshire, maybe matlock way. The stockport lot can meet at the usual place, pick up the cheshire and wirral lot in macc, then head out to matlock over the cat and fiddle and through buxton.
Let me know what you think, or if you have any ideas.
See you all soon,
chris.

Don't think I'll make this one Chris The car's showing an error code in the Throttle Sensor / Speedometer, it's in to Prosport tomorrow to see if it can be remedied! Hope it's not to serious.

Chris just got in from fixing the car going to loton this weekend blinking oil leak, had to take the engine out and half the transmision to pieces. Anyway I will ask one of the guys I work with to recomend a pub around Matlock area as he lives just up the road from Matlock. I think we need one with a big car park!

morning andy, I hope the leak wasn't on your scooby! I presume you mean the race car.
Yeah, a big carpark would be a good idea, or maybe one with a beer garden/carpark, so we can admire our pride and joys as we drink,
chris.

This meet would've been perfect timing for me 'cos the cars in the dealers for PPP, Quickshift, etc, on Monday/Tuesday so it couldve had a proper drive out.
Never mind, have a good one anyway, see you at the next.

CW, I will be meeting up at Jct 17 before heading to Leek. Catching a few others and then heading for the C&F via Macc.
Our intention was to then have a couple of drinks/chat/tyre kick etc (weather permitting), before heading back to Leek.
Includes a nice drive back down to Leek and then on to Congleton, you lot could then go off back to Macc, while we carry on back to the M6. What do you think?

goober, are you after meeting at the cat and fiddle? then heading back to the m6 after that?
if so, the stockport lot could meet up as usual and meet your lot there, then all drive down to macc together, and head our seperate ways from there.
sounds good to me, the c&f is a nice enough pub, but bring a jacket as it is the highest pub in england, and on a nice night, it will still be cold up there,
chris.
