topdog and turboray, you would be more than welcome to join in and show us some of your gorgeous roads out there. How about we meet up with you guys for the saturday evening run out? And then maybe again for the sunday run, before we head for home?
Ok, as for a date, I can safely say I will be able to make this on the weekend of the . I am on leave the week before, and the wife isn't working that weekend.
So I will set that as the definate date, and phone the Inn for prices when I get thier brochure through.
Let me know asp if you can make that date.
thanks for the wishes pitchblack, pity you couldnt make thursday, hope you get the gearbox fixed soon, get in touch with steelx, he had his done really cheaply recently.
See you all tomorrow night,
chris.

I've got the brochure through for the Groes Inn today, phew! bit pricey. I will bring it along tonight, you can have a look yourselves.
Also, I spoke to Terry Andrew last night on the phone, he of advanced driving tuition fame, and he asked if I and some scooby mates would be interested in being marshalls at the CAMBRIAN RALLY in North Wales on the 1st of November this year.
It would mean we would be able to drive right up to the spot where we would be marshalling in the forest, and get our own marshall jacket while we watched the cars go through.
Anyone interested?
He also mentioned that the skidpan he told me about near Tarporley is being refurbished, and it should be ready around the end of September, so that is ANOTHER day out to organise!
see you all soon,
chris.

The ball is in motion! I have recieved an email back off Richard Meaden, co-editor of EVO MAGAZINE. I asked him about staying over a weekend near the triangle, and he suggested here.
It may be a bit pricey by all accounts, here is his reply back to me:
>>Hi Chris,
Any of the roads close to the 'Triangle' are worth a look, to be honest. Exploring Snowdonia is half the fun of driving in Wales.
We often stay at the Groes Inn, which isn't too far from Conwy. The owner, Justin, has a 911 C4S and has been on a few evo shoots. It's not the cheapest place around, but the rooms are extremely comfortable, there's ample safe parking and the food is excellent. Look at www.groesinn.com for more info. If you end up staying there, say hello from me.
Have a good time.
Richard Meaden<<
I was shocked to say the least that I got a reply within 20 minutes of writing tonight!
So, now all we need to do is decide a date, for a saturday and sunday run out over to North Wales, see how many of us are up for it and see if we can get permission off our partners!
Let me know what you think guys, the usual crew know all about this, but anyone else is welcome, but we may have to limit numbers to a reasonable amount. We don't want an NBO to North Wales, so maybe a limit of 20?

I have phoned the Inn today and requested a brochure, with price list and special offers.
I just want to find out when people will be able to go, I wont say what dates I am free over the next few months just yet, as I am in the process of applying for a new position at work. So, I will have to hang on till I hear about that.
We're probably looking around the end of August or sometime in September.
If you want to come along, let me know via email, what dates between now and the end of September that your free over a full Saturday and Sunday, that way, I can post the best dates when most people are off.
If we do a group bulk booking at that Inn, I would imagine that they would give us a bit of a discount.
Also, if nobody mines sharing a double room, the prices will be even cheaper, just don't mention it to the wife, or here on scoobynet! (did you see the thread on gay scooby owners?)

OK, format would be something like this:
Saturday: around 9-10am meet up at the usual spot, H&H in Otterspool. Drive over to wherever we decide to stay. Dump our luggage, and have some dinner. Go out for a drive. Come back for tea at the hotel (or b&b) go out for a drive at night! Back to the hotel (or b&b) have a few bevies, only a few mind.
Go to bed.
Sunday: Have breakfast, go for a drive, have dinner, drive home again.
We could even top the weekend off by all meeting up at a pub with partners and kids in the evening?
During the whole weekend, I will be videoing and taking pics, so we will have an excellent momento of our weekend away.
Sound good?
Let me know,
chris.

'Ello,
I'll deffo come as long as i'm off. Don't know when i'm in at the weekend though, i'll check my rota.
I'll add that the Groes in (oldest pub in Wales) is spot on for grub but pricey (£2.50 for a pint of bitter). Lovely fillet though!
